FROM A 16 YEAR NICKNAME TO CREATING A LEGACY INTRODUCING ‘BILLOBUCKERS’. WE GOT THE CHANCE TO HAVE A CHAT WITH THE FOUR PIECE ABOUT THEIR BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘PLAN B’ AND EP THAT IS COMING! READ IT ALL HERE.

What is the bands name?
Billobuckers

How did you come up with the bands name?
It’s been a nickname since I was about 16 I think

What is your genre of music?
Indie

What made you go into music?
I’d subconsciously wrote a song after a gig thinking it was a song that got played, kept asking everyone I went with what song it was and they all looked at me a bit gone out. So I’d picked my old guitar up and just carried on from there really.

Who are your influences?
Arctic monkeys, Happy Mondays, The Specials, Jamie T, anything indie to be fair

Are you a signed?
Not yet

You released your new latest single ‘Plan B’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
Gavin Monaghan, who produced the track, really brought to it to life. It’s a boppy tune that basically sticks 2 fingers up at people that try to bring you down about what chasing your dreams.

Describe the track in two words.
Absolute stomper

What was the writing and recording process like?
It was written on a break from work over a cuppa tea, I’d had the chords for a while, and it just flowed out. Recording it was great, Gavin really brought out the best in us and bounced off his ideas with his ours really well, several guitars, several vocal takes and several trips to the shop. It was brilliant.

Who did you work with on the album?
Gavin Monaghan in Magic Garden Studios

We are also expected to hear a new EP ‘Eloquently Common’, tell us more about the EP and the creation.
The EP was the first 5 songs I’d recorded with Matt Cotterill before I’d started the band. It was a proper kick up the backside to get a band started. It was all the tales of nights out and hangovers, and I think they were all written either drunk or hungover as well.

Describe each track in two words.
Proper authentic

Do you have any live shows coming up?

Then a big one with our friends Box of Trash and Northen Hospitality april 13th at record junkee in sheffield. then I don’t think we’ve got anything until May after that.
