ROCK-COUNTRY CROSSOVER TRIO ‘TIGER SKY’ ARE HERE TO TAKE TO ON A JOURNEY AND WITH THEIR NEW SINGLE ‘WALKING ON RAINDROPS’ WE GOT THE CHANCE TO CHAT WITH DAMIAN ALL ABOUT IT. READ IT BELOW.

What are your names?
Damian Carruthers, Adam Brucass & Alexander Tor Stangeland

What is the bands name?
Tiger Sky

How did you come up with the bands name?
I was going through a break up and also my last band just ending, I was out walking early one morning and looked up at thy, the clouds looked like tiger stripes and the phrase ‘Tiger Sky’ just came into my head, i knew then that this was the new bands name

What is your genre of music?
We blend many styles of music, we all have different influences so the music is a mixture of rock, pop, pop punk and country…. we are quite versatile when it comes to writing

Give us a little bio about you.
Tiger Sky are a Norfolk (UK) based Rock/Country/Crossover band, the group came together in the summer of 2023 and shortly after released their debut single ‘Walking On Raindrops’ – The track has so far performed well on radio and in the press and the band have 2 more singles in the pipeline this year as well as a headline theatre show.

What made you go into music?
I grew up on music, I always felt different and isolated as a child and music gave me a place to go… it gave me an escape, the only time I feel truly happy and at peace is when I am writing, recording and playing live

Who are your influences?
There are so many! For me, it would be bands like Aalter Bridge, New Found Glory, Deaf Havana and so many more… Adam (vocals) is a huge fan of country music which is plain to see in his vocal style, if you asked him… it would be Bon Jovi, Luke Combs….

Are you a signed?
No, we are independent, but have only just released our debut single

You  released your new single ‘Walking On Raindrops’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
The track is about that first kiss feeling, its about falling in love and knowing they are the one

Describe the track in two words.
Deeply Beautiful

What was the writing and recording process like?
It has been completely different writing for this band, I will tend to come up with an idea and then hand over to Adam and Tor to tweak. I have learned to put so much trust in both of them, they are amazingly talented and working as a team has really enabled us to create some great music together! Adam is on another level to me lyrically and vocally, where as Tor is insanely gifted on the guitar and seems to know exactly which direction to take a song in the studio. We make a great team

Who did you work with on the single?
We used a producer called Adam Fiasco, we have known him for years and he is incredible at what he does! He gets the very best out of us, gives us direction and has a great ear for both production and mixing, he is basically an extended member of the band! Having a great producer is essential to creating great music! Producers are often unsung heroes, but a great producer can make all the difference when it comes to creating music.

Will we see a music video for ‘Walking On Raindrops’, and if so, what can we expect from the creative process?
Yes, you can view it here

You are also set to release a new album, tell us more about the creative process, making and what the meaning of the album is.
The album is due out next year and will focus on Love, heartbreak, Loss, Triumph and everything that comes with it

We are headlining the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton on the 18th October this year. All the profit from the show will be donated to Marie Curie UK and we will release a single for the charity along side this.It is all part of a huge fundraising project to raise £26,000 for the charity which I am running

What else can we expect in late 2023?
We have a couple more singles due and and will be writing a lot more and potentially playing another show or 2

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
If we are still creating music and playing then I will be happy. Success is derived from doing what you love, it doesnt matter who or how many people listen, we have never sought approval from anyone.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
