What is your name?
James Dunne

What is your genre of music?
Outlaw Country

Give us a little bio about you.
Well, before I started attempting making a go of this music thing, I served in the British Armed Forces (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) for just under a decade where I ended up deployed overseas on operational tours of Afghanistan etc. I’m rough around the edges, there’s no two ways about it, honestly what you see is what you get and that is true to be said for my music.

What made you go into music?
I always had a passion for music, but never aspired to become an artist, I first started doing the open mic circuit in August 2022 and its grown from there, its been a bit mental to be honest.

Who are your influences?
My influences are, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers to name a few.

Are you a signed?
I’m not no. any takers?

You released your new single ‘ Black Train’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
I think it’s a reminder to always be a better man, no matter what spanners are thrown in the works, difficulties that stand in your path, spite and venom fired at you or temptation presented at your door to distract you from the present, always fight it. I admitted my faults, and this song is about my journey to atonement and riding that Devil back to where he came from. It’s not gonna go down this time the way it has before.

Describe the track in two words.
Dark And Gritty

What was the writing and recording process like?
Honestly, after a 12 hour night shift, countless cups of tea sitting on the sofa with the hound, who was most upset about me disturbing her nap time. There must have been some unconscious feelings that needed to come out because lyrically it just flowed out and the pen didn’t leave the paper.

Who did you work with on the single?
I wrote the song, and the music, but I had incredible help from the Producer of the the record, Oz Craggs from Hidden Track Studios to help make it what it is

Will we see a music video for ‘Black Train’, and if so what can we expect from the creative process like?
You will! And its raw, and in theme with the title of the track, it even incorporates a performance element.

Can we expect an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect from it.
I Am releasing an EP on the 20th May 2023 and it will incorporate 5 original songs including Black Train and my Debut Single, they follow the same theme
