LAUREL TAYLOR IS AN ARTIST AND SINGER/SONGWRITER IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. ORIGINALLY FROM ALABAMA, SHE MADE HER MOVE TO MUSIC CITY TEN YEARS AGO, RIGHT AFTER TURNING EIGHTEEN. FROM THE AMERICAN IDOL STAGE, TO TOOTSIES ON BROADWAY, TO THE LOCAL CHURCH LEADING WORSHIP, HER VOICE AND SOUND SPEAKS TO EVERY CROWD. LAUREL CARRIES AN EXCELLENT STAGE PRESENCE AND LIVE SHOW PERFORMANCE EVERYWHERE SHE GOES. SHE HAS A RAW COUNTRY SOUND, MINISTRY MINDSET, AND HER OWN UNIQUE STYLE. LAUREL USES HER LIFE STORIES TO SPEAK TO PEOPLE THRU HER MUSIC AND INTENTIONALLY WRITES FOR EVERYONE THAT LISTENS.
What made you go into music?
Music is my passion and I chose to pursue it because it is truly a gift from God, not just a talent.
Who are your influences?
I listen to a lot of worship and singer/ songwriter music with a good story behind it.
My influences would be:
Chris Stapleton for his real and raw storylines.
Brandon Lake for his style of writing
Adele for her tone and range
Tasha Cobbs for taking us to church!

No, I am independent.
You released your new single ‘Old House’ , tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
The inspiration behind the song came from a sign that I saw that said “bringing up my past is like robbing a house that is empty.” Everybody has a unique past and an old house that they need to move out of.

What was the writing and recording process like?
I wrote it once all the way through. I came back two years later, took it to a producer/ friend and rewrote it with him for it to become what it is now.
Who did you work with on the single?
Jay Speight is the producer for this single and will be producing the rest of my music coming out this year.
Will we see a music video for ‘Old House’ and if so what can we expect from the creative process?
Yes, there will be a music video coming out! I want to find a really old and broke down house and tell a story within its walls.
Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect from it?
I am releasing all singles this year.

I have a new single that will drop for Mother’s Day.
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Doing exactly what I am doing now, but with a bigger platform that the Lord will provide!
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Him who is faithful with little, will be faithful with much.” Luke 16:10
With that being said, what God puts in front of you, you have to steward well so when you are handed something bigger, you are responsible with that as well. Keep a humble posture.
