What is your name?
Elise Del Mar

What is your genre of music?
Pop

Give us a little bio about you.
I’m a twenty-two-year-old pop artist based out of Los Angeles, CA. Before moving to LA, I lived in Nashville, TN where I played shows and studied songwriting at Belmont University. In the summer of 2021, I performed at Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the nation. I have released 5 songs this year and will continue to release more music in the near future.

What made you go into music?
I started singing and writing music when I was really young. It has always been a way for me to express myself and share the things I’ve experienced with the world. Music has been a way for me to feel connected with something bigger than myself. I’ve always loved the fact that artists are able to bring all different types of people together through their music and build a community. I want to be able to do that with my music and that’s what drove me to pursuing music full time.

Who are your influences?
Gracie Abrams and Chelsea Cutler

Are you a signed?
No

You released your single ‘Lose Your Love’, tell us more about the single.
It’s a fun nostalgic song reflecting on a past summer. It’s about that last summer between high school and college. It’s a guitar and vocal focused song, and although the lyrics are a little bit sad, it’s still very energetic and danceable.

Describe the track in two words.
“Autumn Bop”

What was the writing and recording process like?
I co-wrote the song with a producer in Nashville. He came up the guitar part and I wrote lyrics over it and then we built the track around that. It was a really fun project, and we were also able to come up with another song together at that time which I’m releasing on October 14th.

Who did you work with on the single?
Andrew Stewart

Will we see a music video for ‘Lose Your Love’ and if so what can we expect from the creative process?
I think someday I would like to make music videos for all my songs, but right now my main focus has been on continuing to make more music and developing my sound in the process. So no music video for now, but hopefully someday soon!

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect from it?
Yes, my goal for the next year is to release my debut EP. I’ve been spending this past year deciphering what exactly I want my sound to be now that I’ve learned how to produce music for myself. It’s been a really fun process and I want this EP to highlight this new sound that I’m going for.

What else can we expect in 2022?
I have one more song coming out this year. It’s called “The One” and it releases on October 14th

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
In 5 years, I hope to be touring. I love to play shows, and I love travelling. So, ideally I’ll be able to do both while sharing my music with the world.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” It’s so corny, I know, but I’m my absolute happiest when I’m making music and playing shows. I get to do that as my career and never has it felt like work. It’s the best feeling ever.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
I always bring a spare outfit, my microphone, a snack, a phone charger, and my in-ears.

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
Yes! I’m on Instagram, on tiktok, and on Facebook. I primarily post on Instagram and TikTok though.
