Colin, thanks for chatting with us again.
How have you been?
Great to chat again…….all is well here!!!!

What was the experience like and do you have any best bits?
I think my favourite part of the show was singing with the Q strings a wonderful string quartet who joined us for 3 songs.

It’s the 50th Anniversary of your debut ‘One Year’, tell us how you are feeling about the anniversary and what was the meaning behind the album then and now?
I think it’s really exciting that the 50th. anniversary of my solo album is going to be celebrated though it’s a fairly sobering thought that so many years have passed since “One Year” was released. In a fairly vague way “One Year” is like a diary of a year spent recording from the summer of “She Loves The Way They Love Her” to the summer of “Say You Don’t Mind”.

You have also added to the LP 14 new tracks that have never been heard, tell us more about each of these songs that we have never heard before.
Of the 14 “new” songs I later recorded 4 of them. “Caroline Goodbye”, “Though You Are Far Away” and “Let Me Come Closer” were all used on “One Year” and “I’ve Always Had You” was recorded on my second album “Ennismore”. The remaining 10 songs are rather distant memories. I have no recollection of the actual sessions and to be honest only the faintest memories of the songs themselves. It’s been fascinating hearing these tunes again after all this time and it’s encouraged me to look through all my old tapes to see if I can find anymore “lost gems”!!!!

Describe each track in two words.
They are mostly tales of loves lost and loves won typical of a young man writing his first songs (sorry 19 words).

Who did you work with on the unreleased recordings?
Fellow Zombie Rod Argent played on some of the tracks as does the late great singer songwriter Duncan Browne and Chris White acted as producer on some of the sessions.

The Zombies also have some live dates coming up, let us know where fans can get tickets from.
All Zombie concert tickets are available from the “live” button on thezombiesmusic.com
