LATE 2000’S INSPIRED ELECTRO-POP DUO ‘NEONTOWN’ ARE READY TO SHOW THE WORLD WHO THEY ARE ABOUT AND I GOT CHATTING WITH ITALIAN DUO NOW BASED IN LONDON ALL ABOUT THEIR NEW RELEASE ‘JUNE’. GIVE OUR CHAT A READ HERE BELOW!

No description available.

What are your names?
Our names are Aure and Jac. I mean are actual names are Aurelio and Jacopo (we are from italy) but we go by Aure and Jac in the UK because it’s easier.

What is your genre of music?
Electropop, pop

What made you go into music?
Aure
: for me it was since I was very little. My mum signed me up to this kids singing contest when I was 5 and since then I couldn’t stop listening to music and singing, and then I got into playing piano and producing during my teenage years.

Jac: I just wanted to be Avril Lavigne when I was younger, lol So i wanted to do whatever she was doing and I started playing guitar and writing songs and practice, day after day. But no, seriously, I was always really attracted to how people would write songs, and different lyrics they would choose to describe different situations and how they would mix it with a specific sound to convey a specific message.

Who are your influences?
We are deeply influenced by pop music from the 00s and we like to mix melodies from that era with more modern sounds. Lady Gaga, Marshmello, Taylor Swift, Madonna are some of our biggest influences when it comes to sound and lyrics.

Are you signed?
Not.. yet

You released your new single ‘June’, tell us more about the single.
June is a very nostalgic track about reminiscing carefree days with that someone special during a summer day.

What is the meaning behind the single?
To live in the moment without thinking about consequences.

What was the writing and recording process like?
Aure: June is actually the first song we wrote together last year during the first lockdown. At the time we just decided it was finally time to focus on our music career. Jac played me part of a song he started writing and we just started vibing to it and it was so easy to finish the song. We wanted the song to sound nostalgic but uplifting. We actually recorded a first early version but re-recorded it earlier this year as we wanted to add some elements and rework some melodies.

Describe the track in two words.
Nostalgic and Real

Who did you work with on the single?
We wrote, produced and recorded the track. The only other person who worked on the track was our mix and mastering engineer Luigi Gaetani, which was such a joy to work with!

Will we see a Music Video for the single and if so what was the creative process like?
The music video is actually out already and it’s kind of a mini-film. From the moment we finished recording the track we knew already what we wanted the video to look like. We were very inspired from teenage tv dramas we used to watch while growing up, like The OC. We shot the video in Southport in June with Hyve (a Leeds production company) and it turned out to be exactly like we wanted it.

Will we see an EP or Album and if so what can we expect from it?
Yeah, we are planning to release an EP in the next few months. The EP is mainly a collection of the tracks we’ve released so far, plus a couple of unreleased ones. We’ve recorded over 30 songs in the past year, and the EP will be just a little taste of what’s to come!

What else can we expect in 2021?
More music, Live shows and some collabs!

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
We like to think big so hopefully touring around the world and releasing album after album.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“One step at the time”. Sometimes we need to remember ourselves that. We are really impatient and we like to see everything happening the exact same moment when we think about it. That from finishing a song to the actual release of the song. So we always remember that we need to do one step at the time and the right moment for everything to happen will come.

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
Yeah! We are on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook .Give us a follow cause there’s so much more to come and we can’t wait to share it with you all!
