What are your names?
James Harrod, Mitchell Capes, Joe Gray, Sam Howell, Ellis Keogh
What is the band’s name?
Fever
How did you come up with the band’s name?
It was just the best of a bad bunch of potential band names, but I think we’re growing into the name now – if that makes sense
What is your genre of music?
Indie pop/rock
Give us a little bio about you.
Hello, I’m Mitch. I’ve been playing guitar with FEVER since the beginning, alongside James and Joe – you could say I’m the least seasoned in the band when it comes to playing live and being in bands. So going from not playing a gig in 4 years to going on tour with the blossoms was a huge jump to say the least! Sometimes you’ve just gotta blag it and hope for the best.
What made you go into music?
Looking back, it was James who got me into music – we sat next to each other in English and each lesson without a doubt, he’d recommend a new Oasis album for me to listen to and which songs he’d think I’d buzz over. And he was right, I did buzz over them tunes – so I ended up going to Argos and buying a cheap acoustic guitar and taught myself how to play my favourite tunes, James did the same and the rest is history
Who are your influences?
As a band I’d say The Beatles, Strokes and Killers – for me personally, at the minute – The Smiths and Mac Demarco.
Are you signed?
No, we are still unsigned, but however we work with Very Clever Records.
Your new single ‘Time Will Define’ is out now, tell us more about the single.
It’s the start of a new direction for us as a band – a transition from Indie rock to the Indie pop side of things. I’m really looking forward to playing this one live in the future! I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.
What is the meaning behind the single?
I think James once said it’s about going through a turbulent time in a relationship. “Time will define if loves the answer” is the first line of the chorus and I think that says it all really.
Who did you work with on the single?
Jonny Hooker at Young Thugs Studios in York.
Describe the track in two words.
Pandemic Pop
Will we see a Music Video for the new single and if so what can we expect?
Yes, you will! You can expect a smoke machine and a large church.
What else can we expect in 2021?
A very big tour, and some more lovely music
.
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
With my mates. Touring. 2 albums in. The freedom to do this full time and still pay my rent and bills. So, I’d imagine like most aspiring bands!
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Just blag it Mitch, I’m sure it’ll work out”
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Socks, Shoes, Jeans, Shirt, Enthusiasm.
