My name is Demetrio Donzelli. There are three other members of The Silver Devils; William Webb, Greg, and Derek Bjurman (Greg and Derek are brothers).

What is your genre of music?
Soul/Punk/Alternative

Give us a little bio about you.
I grew up in Palo Alto, California. I am about to graduate from Santa Clara University, where I study philosophy and theatre arts. I write screenplays and stage plays. I really like going to beaches and having deep discussions over a cup of coffee.

What made you go into music?’
My best friend in elementary school’s older brother was learning guitar, and played us the song “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day, and I wanted to be able to connect with people the same way he connected with me

Who are your influences?
Each member of the band brings their own influences. The ones that I bring are from the alternative/soul/jazz traditions. Bands like Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, The Paragons, The Velvet Underground, and Chet Baker are all big influences.

Are you signed?
Nope, I’m completely independent.

Your new single ‘Love Potion No.10’ , tell us more about the single.
Love Potion No. 10 is the third single in The Silver Devil’s catalogue. The song is a moody punk rock trip through the hallowed darkness the Devils are capable of. It is the last single we will release as we work to complete our first album.

What is the meaning behind the single?’
Love Potion No. 10 is the tragic medicine we all give ourselves in order to avoid the necessary emotions we all need in order to grow. For me, Love Potion No. 10 represents blame. Blaming others, blaming myself. The first step to overcoming Love Potion No. 10 is being aware of its effect on you, and writing this song helped me get there.

Who did you work with on the single?
I worked with Greg, Derek, my friend Ben on lead guitar, my friend Jordan on background vocals, and my friend William on saxophone

Describe the track in two words.
Emotional turbulence

What was the writing and recording process like?
Writing it was a collaboration between myself and the lead guitarist. Recording took a long time because it was the first time we could record all of the parts together as a band. Before this song, we were recording each track at a separate location.

Will we see a video for ‘Love Potion No.10’ and if so what can we expect?
Maybe.

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect from it?
There will be an album; expect authentic beautiful sounds.

What else can we expect in 2021?
Live Shows and our first album

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Happy.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
I don’t know 一 I haven’t had a gig yet. But as my bandmate Greg can tell you, I’m a very forgetful person at least when it comes to things. So I’ll probably forget all five things, whatever they are.
