COUNTRY-POP ARTIST ‘MONTANA MODDERMAN’ RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘BIRTHDAYS AND NEW YEARS’ AND WE HAD A CHANCE TO HAVE A CHAT ALL ABOUT IT. GIVE IT A READ BELOW!

What is your names?
Montana Modderman

Give us a little bio about you.
Okay! I’m a country singer songwriter originally from Allendale, MI. I’ve also lived in Bradenton/Sarasota, FL. I love the beach. When I’m not writing music, I’m probably reading, going for a walk or watching One Tree Hill.

What made you go into music?
Songwriting. I always enjoyed singing but when I started writing songs it’s like someone flipped the switch and I knew this is what I wanted to do.

Are you a signed?
I’m not. I’m an independent artist.

You released your new single ‘Birthdays and New Years’, tell us more about the single.
Yes! It’s really a nostalgic song for me. I think it captures that feeling you get when you hear from someone you once were so close to.

What is the meaning behind the Single?
I think for me the song really tells the story of what it’s like to go from strangers to something more than friends and then back to strangers again.

What was the writing and recording process like?
So I wrote this one alone in quarantine. The song really was inspired by a text I received on my birthday. I got the idea and I knew I had to write it. I was lucky enough to work with Zachary Manno on production. He really brought this song to life. There’s even a part right before the second verse where if you listen close enough you can hear a New Years countdown. It’s incredible.

Describe the track in two words.
Nostalgic Bop

Who did you work with on the song?
I wrote this one by myself and was privileged to have Zachary Manno produce it. He really brought this track to life.

Will we see a music video for the track?
I hope so.

Will we see an EP or Album and if so what can we expect?
We’ll see. I will definitely be putting out more music.

What else can we expect in Early 2021?
I don’t know about early 2021 but definitely more music this year!

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
You know, I’d like to say I have that all figured out but I just don’t. If 2020 has taught me anything, it’s to take one day at time. I’m trying very hard to be more present and let go of my expectations. I certainly have goals for 2021 and the next five years that I wish to accomplish and action steps to get me there. However, I also realize if I don’t reach all of them, that’s okay. It doesn’t define who I am as an artist or more importantly a human.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” – Dolly Parton
