Music made me get into music, and knowing that I could do it and sing everyday. I like the way I feel when I sing, and I decided I want to make people feel like this too when I sing. SO, I sang and they felt good, and I felt good and I just wanted to do it for the rest of my life.

On Repeat

What was the writing process like?
Quick, organic, natural, therapeutic. It was musical.

What was the recording process like?
An absolutely incredible vibe. We spent wild and crazy days, nights, weeks straight in the studio hanging out all night letting emotions out. Notably, my favorite 9 people laughing ridiculous amounts, and crying even when I felt the moments so exact like when I wrote it. It was a rollercoaster: exciting and thrilling. We pulled in incredible musicians and friends out in LA and New York City, flew people out and just saturated ourselves in the process. Being in the studio, living this life as an artist, it’s incredible. And knowing that I’m doing what artists like Janis, Madonna, Michael, Elvis, BB King, what they did, it’s just fantastic. This song and any song, it’s everything it takes to make a baby.

Who did you work with on the Single?
Originally I wrote it on my rooftop in NYC with a piano part from Brad Kuhn. Then brought it to Artist Incorporated: Ejay Randolph and CWB, J.Graves, Tie Hixon. It was an explosion of God.
