What are your names?
Robby Gullet, Josh Bilisko, Ben DeWitt, and Matt Burdick
How did you come up with the band’s name?
Josh’s friend had a list of cool band names, so he gave us the name. We’re not associated with the city at all. It’s kind of a lame story, but the name stuck and we <3 it.
What is your genre of music?
Indie rock-ish. We like to play around with different styles and influences.
What made you want to go into music?
We’re all avid music listeners. We enjoy playing and writing, and I guess we just got hooked. Music can be very difficult and cut-throat, but we’re going for it.
How did you write “Gently”?
Ben wrote the song. He first came up with the chords and melody, then wrote the lyrics later.
What is the meaning behind the single?
It describes the moment at which one realizes that the magic they shared with their partner is long gone. It’s a tragic narrative accompanied by blissful instrumentation.

What was the recording process like?
The whole thing was recorded and mixed in Ben’s basement. We actually only used two microphones for the entire thing.
Who did you work with on the single?
It was pretty much just us. We wrote, recorded, mixed, and published it ourselves. We also worked with our friend Kyle Brown to create the cover art.
Do you have any shows coming up? If so, where will you be heading?
We’ve got a big one on January 3rd in our home town of Grand Rapids at the Pyramid Scheme. We also periodically tour around the Midwest, and we’ll be announcing the shows on social media 🙂

Your coming off tour;
1/ Where do you go first? We kicked off the tour with a bangin’ hometown show in GR. It was so sick to see our local fans turn out
2/ Who do you see first? We see a lot of each other, as well as the other band we’re touring with, Future Misters. But we also meet tons of really cool people including fans, hosts, and other bands.
3/What do you eat first? Some really nice people we stayed with tonight in Kalamazoo made us pancakes morning and it really hit the spot. Shoutout to the Velvet Cowboy
