Give us a little bio about you.

Brooke Law is a singer songwriter from London, who started song-writing at the tender age of 15. Brooke describes her sound, as fun, driven, empowering, caring and above all gutsy. Her music encompasses an era of awareness and empowerment very prevalent today but is equally influenced by great souls such as Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox

 

 

 

What made you go in to music?

I love the way music allows you to express yourself.

 

 

Are you a signed artist?

No

 

 

You released your new single “Fight Like A Mother” tell us more about it.

It’s the first single I’ve released which has actually introduced the direction I’m going in. It also stands for female power which is a running theme for the EP.

 

 

What was the writing/recording process like?

So fun, I worked on the song with one of my best friends so it was really chilled and so much fun! We experimented loads too, through the production process.

 

 

Who did you work on the Single with?

Sophie LXS.

 

 

What message are you trying to get out?

The song is about nurturing and giving everything you have to your child. No one is taught how to raise a child, mother’s try their best everyday.

 

 

 

You released a music video with the single, tell us more about the planning and making process.

I filmed it in Brighton and also a gym with boxing ring. I wanted to look strong and wanted to highlight the idea that mother’s fight for their children.

 

 

Will we see an EP or Album this year? if so can you tell us the release date or any spoilers about it?.

I have a 4 single EP coming out called ARCHETYPES. Each single represents a different archetype of a woman.

 

 

Do you have gigs coming up or a tour in planning?

I don’t yet.. I’ve only recently got a full band together since releasing my first single so there’s definitely a plan to get some shows booked!

 

 

If so where are you thinking of heading?

Allll around the world!

 

 

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any up coming artists?

Not yet.. (fingers crosses)

What else do you have planned this year?

I have a couple more singles coming out. And I’ll be organised a big fundraising event for the next Million Women Rise march.

 

 

Do you play any instruments?

I play keys and guitar. But only for writing, I could never stop singing!

My mum

Made in Chelsea (I know, I’m very sad)

 

 

How do you get inspiration to write songs?

Through opening up getting hurt (lol so cheese)

 

 

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?

Touring with my band ❤

 

 

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?

I work in events. Conferences, private function,

 

 

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?

I will always Love You- Whitney Houston was the first song I sung on stage. The adrenelin rush I got was the best feeling ever.

 

 

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

To not worry what other people think of you. Be yourself.

 

 

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?

To enjoy making the music and stop thinking about what’s gonna happen. Obviously still do your admin but I’d say keep business and creativity separate!
