The aim is to give them the platform to be able to make music, but music that they are very much in control of and a step away from major labels by giving the control back to the artist. The platform and competition has a brand new concept, not only is it the biggest cash prize (with no strings attached) for a music competition but it is very digital and audience focused. Artists will submit their music via an app which will then allow anyone to download the app and search for music that has been uploaded, maybe in their location or to suit their genre – so could potentially become the first unsigned music streaming platform as well.
