How did you come up with the bands name?
It was actually totally random! I think jack thought of it in the shower and that was it haha, we think it sounds abit like a spanish beer so its all good with us haha. Its actually a breed of parrot, pretty cool!
What is your genre of music?
Its hard to put a set genre on our music, its quite an intersting mix we’d say. Maybe Alternative rock/pop. If you was to narrow it down to one genre we’d say alternative!
Give us a little bio about you and you guys as individuals.
Joel( I started music quite late compared to others. Being an acoustic act around my hometown, it was difficult to get noticed so moving to manchester was a risky yet right thing to do. Coming here and meeting my band mates, it was the best decision I ever made and im certinally not looking back.
Ben (I’ve been playing music and gigging around York for around 3 years playing solo acoustic material mainly. Since going to BIMM Manchester and meeting the group, I’ve picked up the bass guitar and jumped straight into it. There’s no doubt we’ll have plenty more music out in the following months so keep a look out!
What made you go in to music?
We just love playing live and giving people a buzz. We know how it feels when you watch a band play live and the feeling you get from it, so for us to do that for people its an honour!
Are you a signed?
NO! We wouldn’t turn it down tho hehe
Your brand new single out ‘Waterfall’ , whats the meaning behind?
I think the best thing about this song is that people can interpet the song in your own way. I think they way I wrote the lyric ‘become a waterfall’ was to let go and release your feelings, corny but hey haha!
Can you tell us anything about an EP or Album, if its in the works?
We are currently working towards an EP release, we will be back in the studio with Sugar house Production team based in St Helens in september!
Do you have gigs coming up or a tour in planning?
We have a few gigs coming up in manchester when we are all back at uni together, One at Joshua Brooks as we are headlining the night. As for a tour we are looking and willing to support any other bands like oursleves.

Who are your influences?
Our influences range as we are all into different stuff, but if you was to put them all together they would be Bombay Bicycle Club, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Foals, Little Comets, Led Zeppelin, Circa Waves, Stevie Wonder and The Maccabees.
How do you get inspiration to write songs?
When we are jamming all together it just naturally comes to us all, we are all always on the same wave length and vibe so its pretty easy for us to write songs together and perform easily and comfortably togetehr.
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
HOPEFULLy having our own tour with a good fan base, I think that’s important to have a decent fan base that like the music you are playing, afterall they are the ones who are buying our music so id we hope to have a decent following and also to have written some bangers!
When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
Well being at uni, if we arent playing theres only one other thing you can do really, go for a few pints haha! We are all laid back together but when it comes to music we all have the same drive and determination. we like a little party every now and again haha
What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?
For myself id say bands like bombay and little commets, also two door cinema club. They influence me massivly. For the other lads I know jack loves his ac/dc and pink flloyd, the old git haha.
If you had one of your songs played on a TV show or Film which woild you want it to be?
Maybe a bmx montage video or somethuing , thatd be pretty cool!
What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
We all met drummer Ben Thompson for Two door cinema club recently. He went to the same uni as we did and seeing him tour the world with a band daily gave us the belif we could ask for. They hit home that we could actually get somewhere for doing what we love. He told us to work hard and practice daily, never give up. I think working your arse off in this idustry is a must.
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Id say think a head of people. Don’t follow what the crowd is doing now, because its already being done. Do something different as an artist, you will stand out from the crowd and as for that, how wouldn’t want to listen for something new and fresh?!
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
LYRICS!!CHORDS, the main one for me is my tuning of my guitar, I always forget all the time haha.
