What are your names and your band’s name?
Linda: Hi! We’re Linda Pardee (bass & vocals, Tim Gillis (guitar & vocals) and Bruce Caporal (drums and shouts) and we’re The Chelsea Curve!
How did you come up with the band’s name?
Linda: We’re took our name from a zig-zagging stretch of highway just north of Boston aptly called the Chelsea curve. I kept hearing it mentioned on the traffic report, and thought what a cool name. It’s got that British feel while still very Boston … plus we get a free plug every time it’s mentioned on the radio!
What is your genre of music?
Linda: I put us in the modpowerpop bucket.
Give us a little bio about you.
Linda: We switched on in 2020 when Tim and I bonded over our love of 70s punk and the mod style and sound. We recruited (original drummer) Ron, and began writing. In 2021, we signed to Red on Red Records and released 8 singles, leading up to our 2022 debut album All the Things which was well received. We began playing larger shows and festivals like Boston Calling, toured the UK, and in 2023 just released our latest single when life became complicated. Our label boss, and band confidante, unexpectedly passed away, our drummer amicably relocated out-of-state, and I had some health issues. Fast forward to 2025, and with all that behind us, we (including our new ace drummer Bruce) signed to Rum Bar Records, released 2 singles (including an Andy Lewis remix of our song Jamie C’mon) and re-issued our debut album with bonus tracks. We toured the UK and the US with our mod brothers Sharp Class and The Len Price 3, and this year we just released our sophomore record The Rideout!
What made you go into music?
Linda: I was always listening to my older brother’s records, the good stuff (Ramones, Buzzcocks, The Clash) and I was hooked. Simple as that!
Who are your influences?
Linda: Numero uno is The Jam! But I also love Ian Kaye, The Interrupters, The Len Price 3, Sharp Class, and Bad Religion to name a few
Are you a signed?
Linda: Yes, we’re on Rum Bar Records run by the man, Lou Mansdorf, a swaggering rock-n-roll crusader!
You released your new album ‘The Rideout’, tell us more about the album and what was the writing and recording process like?
Linda: The Rideout is our second record and we put much more thought, planning, and preproduction into it. We took our time and had a clear vision for how each track should sound, re-writing and tweaking parts until we got it. We made sure to include tons of backing vocals, multiple guitar parts, keyboards, percussion, handclaps – y’know, all the fun n fancy stuff! Our debut record All the Things was just sort of knocked out without over-thinking, which has its’ own merits.

Who did you work with on the album?
Linda: Our double secret weapon, engineer extraordinaire Mike Quinn, who has had his hands and ears on all our releases.

Linda: Yes! Lead single RIDE has a video coming out soon! Stay tuned.
What else can we expect in 2026?
Linda: Next up this fall is a double-A vinyl single where we dip our toes a bit into the 2-Tone scene on one side and into more of a torchy Amy Winehouse curveball on the other side.

Linda: Watching my AI self do all the work.
