FROM NEBRASKA TO NASHVILLE! WE GOT THE CHANCE TO CHAT WITH SINGER-SONGWRITER ‘JANELLE GRACE’ ABOUT HER LATEST SINGLE ‘IN THIS HEART OF MINE’. READ IT HERE NOW.

What is your name?
Janelle Grace

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a singer/songwriter from Nebraska who moved to Nashville 14 years ago to pursue music. I have lived through many life altering challenges on this journey. I am a storyteller, songwriter, and I feel my purpose is to help and inspire others based on my own experiences through my music. I am also a dental hygienist for the Nashville community.

What made you go into music?
Growing up, my room was next to one of my brothers’ room. I would listen to him practice his guitar all the time and sing. After being exposed to this at an early age, I begged my parents to get me into guitar lessons. I started guitar lessons in 2nd grade and the music and live performance followed since childhood.

Who are your influences?
Patty Loveless, Lee Ann Womack, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Alison Krauss, and Jelly Roll.

You released your latest single ‘In This Heart Of Mine’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind it.
This song was written by Randy Davis and Aron Rosing and it was an instant connection the first time I heard it. I typically release songs I’ve written myself, but this one struck a deep chord with me, I know I had to record it. It’s a tribute to my mom – and to every mother whose love continues to echo through their children’s lives. I lost my mom unexpectedly in 2017. She was my rock, my emotional anchor. Even now, I feel her presence and the signs she sends reminding me I’m on the right path. I know she’s proud of how far I’ve come.

Describe the track in two words.
moving and heartfelt

What was the recording process like?
Unforgettable.  I created a photo collage of my family album and brought it into the studio. I really think this channeled the emotion I was trying to portray in this song. I had a great team that worked together amazingly for this song to come to life.

Who did you work with on the song?
If it wasn’t for Wynne Adams of Wynne Productions, whom I met with for coaching sessions of studio vocal practice and who also was my co-producer, the sound and delivery of song would not have turned out the way it did. I also worked with my Producer Bob McGilpin of McMusic Sound.

Will we see an EP or album and if so what can we expect from the album?
Yes, an EP would be something of the future for sure. It would be full of more storytelling songs that channel towards inspirational uplifting music. Helping to change fans lives of pain into purpose and seeing the silver lining in obstacles and setbacks we may encounter in our lifetime.

Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up or in planning, if so what can you tell us about it?Believe it or not. 2025 has been full of more unfortunate setbacks. So that is a definite yes! 2026 I’ll be there for you! It’s time to change people’s lives through music!

What else can we expect in 2025?
Fans can look forward to maybe a music video of my current single. 2026 has a lot in store for my future music career.

Where do you see yourself in 5 Years?
Writing and releasing more inspiring songs. It’s also every music girls dream to be on a legendary stage such as the Grand Ole Opry or the “Mother Church of Country Music” (The Ryman) sharing songs that touch people’s lives. Someday standing on an award stage of country music and giving an acceptance speech reflecting on the people and fans in my life who brought me to that unforgettable moment of humbleness and thankfulness for believing in my purpose and music. My goal is also to be able to have the means to give to make a difference.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“It’s fine, I’m fine, everything is fine.”  This saying helps me stay positive when things aren’t really fine at the time.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
1.   My big thermos of throat coat tea with lemon
2.   Saying grace with my band before every show
3.   My list of shout-outs (cowriters, my band, the sound engineer, the hard-working staff, and the venue/crew)
4.   Change of shoes (because comfort matters)
5.   My testimony – the reminder of why I’m doing this
