ALTERNATIVE ROCK-POP WITH A SPRINKLE OF THE SUNNY 70’S WE WANT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO TRIO ‘TAHM’ WHO ARE READY TO GET OUT THERE AND BRING THE STAGE ALIVE WITH THEIR MUSIC. READ OUR CHAT HERE.

What are your names?
Ian Palmer (bass, production), Paul Hodgson (lead guitar) and Katie Palmer (rhythm guitar and vocals).

What is the bands name?
TAHM

What is your genre of music?
Alt rock/pop with a sprinkling of sunny 70s Californian jangly guitars, 80s pop rock and a pinch of 90s grunge which is where it all started.

Give us a little bio about you.
Started writing music a lot of years ago and got signed to a major label back in the day. Had a few releases and all the trappings. Life got in the way. We took a huge hiatus from the scene and then had the opportunity to write music again… and here we are. Having the band back together again has been equally unexpected and wonderful.

What made you go into music?
I thought it looked cool, everyone I saw in a band just seemed amazing. I thought, I want a slice of that. Growing up in the skateboard scene with all this bands in the back of Thrasher, we just thought, we could do that.
We have all been in a bunch of bands before getting together and it just clicked
I don’t think we look cool to others though🤠

Who are your influences?

A range from Fleetwood Mac to Blink 182, The Cure with a little 80s rock thrown in for good measure. Modern bands such as Wolf Alice, Black Honey and Pale waves.

You released your latest single  ‘Little Devil’, tell us more about the single  and the meaning behind it.
It’s about getting fed up of treading around the potential explosions of a volatile relationship and realising it’s time to get out.

Describe the track in two words.
Big dynamics

What was the writing and recording process like?
We had a 2 week break from work which ended up being cold and wet so we hunkered down in the studio and spent the whole time turning a bunch of lyrics into the musical highs and lows of Little Devil.

Who did you work with on the song?
It was produced by Ian and mixed/mastered by George Shilling, who we’ve worked with since the 90s. he’s an awesome guy and totally gets what we are trying to do. He is also extremely patient and will indulge our ideas.

Will we see an EP or album and if so what can we expect from the album?
The current plan is a stream of singles (one released every couple of months) rather than an album or EP at the moment.
But we are writing in the studio, so never say never.

Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up or in planning, if so what can you tell us about it?
No shows booked but we’re back rehearsing regularly. We’re expecting a lot of gigs for the back end of this year and into 2026.

What else can we expect in 2025?
Our next single Say Whatever is out on 26th September and there’ll be another release before the end of the year. We’re trying out different creative approaches to our social media content and have new songs being developed in the studio.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
The big goal is different this time around and is more about getting our music out there and engaging with the people who like it (as opposed to world domination/endless riches which was more the naive hope back in the day!). In 5 years, we’d like to have discovered how far we can take this project and hopefully built up a strong fan base who get what we’re trying to do. Simply having our music liked/appreciated would be enough for us.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Better to regret something you have done than something you haven’t.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Portable charger
Water
Hair ties
Lip balm
Blow up shark or other animal, just in case!

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
tahm_music on Insta/YouTube/Facebook and TikTok.
