What is  your names?
Kyle Kelly

What is your genre of music?
Country Alt

Give us a little bio about you.
Down-home raised and driven by the essence of yesteryear, Kyle Kelly captivates listeners by taking them down a unique, yet familiar, road with his songs. Discovering his love for music at the early age of eight, he was moulded by the old school sounds of greats such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Waylon Jennings, which inspired him to learn guitar and drums. After his Debut EP release “Lyin’” back in 2021. Kyle hit the road with his band playing anywhere along the east coast that would have him. His latest single release “Something to Remind Me” calls for the working man to recognize the difference in “making a living, and making a living worth while”. At the end of 2024, Kyle went back into the studio with his touring band to record and self-produce a batch of new singles for 2025 that show just what’s been on his mind after doing a little livin’. Turning wrenches on old Mopars in the day time and honkytonkin’ by night, this 29 year old is a true throwback. Whether backed by his band or just him holding an acoustic guitar and sharing the truth. Kyle Kelly is a force to be reckoned with on any stage.

What made you go into music?
I’d always played music from an early age. The first time I remember wanting to learn to play drums was after watching the movie Drumline. Guitar came at age 12 and then i was always playing something from that point. I didn’t start taking it seriously as a career until after I was injured in baseball in college. I only started singing once I turned 21.

Who are your influences?
Skynyrd, Waylon, Sturgill Simpson, Marshall Tucker Band

Are you a signed?
I am not

You released your new single  ‘The Way It Is’, tell us more about the single  and the meaning behind it.
When I wrote this song I was in a “mood” one evening while working on my car out in my shop. I was frustrated with the music business side of things and the ups and downs an artist faces being independent. Discouraged a bit, I shrugged it off and said “that’s just the way it is”. It wasn’t like I was giving up, I know what I signed up for. But this song was put together with the idea of shedding some light or a glimpse of what goes on in an artist mind/life as we pursue a career in this industry.

Describe the track in two words.
bitter sweet

What was the writing and recording process like?
Writing this song I instantly started putting lyrics together working on my car out in the shop when I said “that’s just the way it is”. It was one of those ones where it comes together quickly cause it was the truth. Me and my road band decided to work it up in rehearsal one day and then decided to start playing it out live. We then went into the studio and produced/recorded ourselves. How it’s recorded is exactly the way we played it the very first time. It was a fun and laid back process recording it because it was second nature at that point.

Who did you work with on the song?
Justin Clyde Williams co-wrote this song with me, we do a lot of writing together

Will we see a music video for the track if so what can you tell us about the creative process or if not how would you imagine it?
I haven’t made any plans to do one. If I did, I imagine it almost taking place exactly how I wrote the song. In my shop working on something voicing frustrations.

Will we see an EP or album and if so what can we expect from the album?
I have a few more singles to release this year that I’m focused on now. Definitely could see an EP/album in the near future.

Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up or in planning, if so what can you tell us about it?
currently we’re playing in NC a good bit, staying close to home. We’ll have some ticketed shows towards the fall/ back part of the year.

Where can we buy tickets from?
I’ll post ticket links on my instagram/facebook profiles

What else can we expect in 2025?
I’ve got a few more singles I’m excited to share with folks that I think they’re really going to dig.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
In 5 years I see myself still putting out music, hopefully back on the road more and still doing this full time.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
One that sticks in my head is. “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
A Hat of some sort, plugging my social medias/streaming, my cable bag, tip bucket.
