What is your names?
KIANA
What is your genre of music?
Pop Country
Give us a little bio about you.
I was born and raised in the Midwest. I fell in love with music and performing when I was about 2 years old and took my first trip to Nashville when I was 14 and haven’t really ever wanted to do anything else but this! Country music was my first love and as I got older I got into pop music so I draw inspiration from both to make the music that I make now.
What made you go into music?
I was just always enamored with artists and musicians. I found a lot of joy in singing and performing and it felt like that was what I was supposed to do with my life. I think being in the audience at a concert or show is one of the most magical things we get to experience in life and I want to keep recreating that experience.
Who are your influences?
Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus were probably my biggest inspirations growing up.
Are you a signed?
I am an independent artist.
You released your latest Single ‘When You’re Looking At Me’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
This song is an upbeat summer song that is very flirty and fun. It is about liking someone who is being a little shy about their feelings for you so you’re trying to explain to them how obvious it is that they have a thing for you even though they might be trying to hide it.
Describe the track in two words.
Fun and Flirty
What was the writing and recording process like?
The day we wrote this song we honestly were not taking anything too seriously. We were just having fun with it and I think that is why the song feels the way it does because that was just the energy we had that day. The vocals in the song are actually from the original demo that day as well because I felt like they captured the vibe so well.
Who did you work with on the single?
I wrote the song with Gabe Walsh and Seth Michael and Seth also was the producer.
Can we expect an Album or EP and If so, what can we expect form it?
I am actually in the process of potentially putting together an EP for early next year. But who knows, maybe I’ll wait a little longer and drop an album at the end of next year. You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out 🙂
Do you have any live shows coming up?
I do a lot of writers rounds around Nashville but I do have some other gigs in the works. I will be doing a hometown show in Omaha, Nebraska later in the year so I will announce more details on that once I know more.
What else can we expect in 2025?
I will be releasing more singles throughout the rest of the year so expect more music!
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
I feel really strongly that even in just 2 years time I will be not just releasing an album but also touring and playing big shows and really getting to do so many things I have always dreamed of doing. It would be so cool to get to open for some of my heroes and biggest inspirations.
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
One that comes to mind that I definitely fall back on funny enough is “Just keep swimming” (in the Dory voice obviously) because that is really all you can do sometimes is just keep going.
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
- Redbull
- My phone
- Hair Spray
- The lyrics (but I do forget those sometimes anyways)
- Before and after gig snack
