INDIE-ROCK SINGER-SONGWRITER ‘RYAN REDWOOD’ FROM THE EAST OF ENGLAND CHATS WITH US ABOUT THE RELEASE OF HIS SINGLE ‘TOMORROW’ AND MORE. READ IT NOW.

What is your names?
Ryan Redwood

What is your genre of music?
Indie Rock

Give us a little bio about you.
I’m Ryan Redwood, I’m an Indie Rock Singer/Songwriter currently based in the East of England. Since my debut, I have been jumping from height to height by playing gigs up and down the country including supporting acts such as Corella, Reverend and The Makers and Twin Atlantic. I have a string of singles released into the world as well as my Debut EP ‘Twenty Something Romance’, all of which have been played on radio across the country including BBC Introducing, Future Hits Radio and many more.

What made you go into music?
I think the first thing that made me want to do music was watching Green Days live album ‘Bullet in a Bible’ and thinking ‘yeah that’s a bit of me’ from then I got into Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys. I think just watching those bands play live, gave me the bug.

Who are your influences?
Catfish and The Bottlemen mainly but bands like Courteeners, Arctic Monkeys, Corella and CUSP also inspire me on a daily basis.

Are you a signed?
No

You released your new single  ‘Tomorrow’, tell us more about the single  and the meaning behind it.
‘Tomorrow’ is quite a deep one actually, it’s based on a conversation I had when I’d had a few which was about the end of the world and how the future is looking quite bleak for young people growing up these days. It questions what we’d do if the world really did end tomorrow.

Describe the track in two words.
Raw and Powerful.

What was the writing and recording process like?
Extremely easy, I think I wrote the whole tune in around 30-45 minutes and then did a quick demo of it like I usually would. I then got my best mate Azza to come over to work on it and we smashed it out fairly quickly. I think I knew what I wanted to do with it as soon as I’d written it so it makes it easier when you’re in the studio as you know exactly what the end goal is.

Who did you work with on the song?
My best pal Azza Lambert.

Can we expect a music video for ‘Tomorrow’ and if so tell us more about the making.
You can, it is out now on my YouTube Channel actually! I don’t really like doing videos but in this day and age they’re handy to slice up on TikTok! Again I had a really clear outlook on it. I wanted to include images of climate change affecting the world we live in and just have me singing over the top of it. I think it came out quite well but I’ll let you be the judge of that haha!

Will we see an EP or Album and if so what can we expect from the creative process?
I’d like to do an album for sure but I need to keep building the fanbase first. I’ve already done an EP with ‘Twenty Something Romance’, it would be cool to do a second one eventually but I think for now Singles is where it’s at.

Do you have any live shows coming up?
I have a big headline gig in Manchester at 33 Oldham Street on the 31st of May with support from Suncharmer, The Velvetines and John Denton. That’s going to be a belting gig!

Let us know where we can get tickets if so.
You can get tickets here – https://linktr.ee/RyanRedwood

What else can we expect in 2025?
You can expect more singles and more gigs. I’m going to be heading back into the studio very soon to work on the follow up of ‘Tomorrow’ very soon.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Living in Manchester and hopefully making a living from music so I can quit my day job!

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
I don’t think I have a specific quote or saying that I’d say I stick by to be honest.. maybe just ‘be true to yourself and don’t let others blur your vision’

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
If you’re attending a gig, remember your ticket, your phone, cards (most venues are cashless these days), mates and manners!

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
Of course, you can follow me on all Social Media by the username – @ryanredwood58
