COUNTRY-ROCK ARTIST BEN HUTCHESON DROPS HIS NEW SINGLE “ALMOST THERE” AND OPENS UP ABOUT ITS MEANING, THE CREATIVE PROCESS, HIS ALBUM, AND MORE. CHECK IT OUT BELOW.

What is your name?
Ben Hutcheson

What is your genre of music?
Country Rock

Give us a little bio about you.
Ben is the new generation of the recent pedigree of fresh English singer/songwriters. Critiqued as bridging the storytelling gap between the likes of Luke Combs, Ed Sheeran and Scotty McCreery.

What made you go into music?
Music is something that I have always been affiliated with! At a young age I was always singing wherever I went and it stuck! I really first got into music about 12 years old when I got my first guitar, from there it just kind of snowballed!

Who are your influences?
Artists ranging from AC/DC, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Passenger, Scotty McCreery, Ed Sheeran, The Script and more. I have so many people that I take inspiration from just because I feel that having more people to draw from influentially allows me to really think about the sound I want with my music.

Are you a signed?
Yes! I am with SNAFU Records.

You released your new single ‘Almost There’, tell us more about the meaning, creative process and the inspiration behind it.
Absolutely, I wrote ‘Almost There’ in a darker period of my life. I had just been through a rough patch and was mostly out the other end, but still had this downbeat lingering feeling. That was when I wrote ‘Almost There’, the idea that you may not quite be through that storm yet, but the end is coming and when it does everything will be better off!

Describe the track in two words.
Motivational and hopeful.

What was the writing and recording process like?
Writing is something I tend to do by myself, the song came together pretty quickly and I had it written in about an hour. The same can be said for recording the single! Myself, a few band members and my producer Tyler smashed the bulk of the recording out for 3 different singles in 1 weekend! So an intense session but well worth it!

Who did you work with on the album?
For my debut album I did this with only the help of my band, I recorded and mixed the album myself. As for the recent singles there have been a few great people I worked with but namely Tyler Spicer (Producer), Fionn Mcguinness Maris (Guitar) and Finlay Bradley (Drums).

Can we expect a music video for ‘Almost There’ and if so tell us more about the making.
I hope so! Timeline wise I could not give you a date but it is planned to have a video with it at some point soon but I am still exploring this avenue

Can we expect an Album or EP and If so, what can we expect form it?
Maybe hopefully in the future but currently I am more focused on releasing singles. These tend to be the main focus of a lot of artists as of recent due to how the streaming market has become. But I would absolutely love to get a second album under way.

Do you have any live shows coming up?
I do! I’ll be playing in London on May 18th at Signature Brew with Breaking Sound and I’ll also be in London at Little Nashville UK on the 8th of August! Other shows you can find on my website / social media at www.benhutcheson.com or under my handles of Ben_hutchesonmusic.

Let us know where we can get tickets if so.
Available on my website, breaking sounds website and linked in my social media bios.

What else can we expect in 2025?
Some more singles! I am working on a few collaborations as we speak and I have another single from this batch of 3 that we recorded to get out so hopefully plenty more music and some live shows to accompany it!

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Hopefully making a full time living from this as it’s what I love to do! No matter where I am, I know for sure, that I’ll still be releasing music and performing, even if just for the pure and utter love of it.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Treat others you want to be treated, it’s a simple and old saying but it works out the best I find. The more respect you show to people and the more help you can offer, it usually gets paid back to you in some way or another!

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?

1. Spare strings – too many gigs have been a nightmare due to this…

2. not everyone will love your music – and that’s okay! You can’t win the whole world round!

3. Speak clearly – Often artists forget to focus on their speaking in between songs, do not rush through what you say and make sure it is clear!

4. ear protection! – This seems counterintuitive but if you do not protect your ears, whilst watching or playing, you won’t be going to gigs for long without hearing a lot less!

5. People show feelings differently – Two people may love your performance just as much as each other, but does it mean less just because someone is watching quietly at the back instead of headbanging at the front? Absolutely not!

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
