Give us a little bio about you.
Hey, I’m Garrett Bradford. I’m a Texas-born singer-songwriter who grew up in the rodeo and ranching world, and my music is a reflection of that way of life. My breakout song, This Way of Life, was featured on Yellowstone (Season 3, Episode 9), which helped bring my music to a wider audience. Since then, I’ve been performing across Texas and Nashville, writing with some of the best in the industry, and working on my upcoming two-part album, Honkiest of Tonkers. I love writing songs that feel real and make people want to dance.
What made you go into music?
I just love telling stories through songs and connecting with listeners through the music I write from my heart.
Who are your influences?
George Strait, Red Steagall, Bob Wills, Nat Stuckey, Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, Gary P. Nunn, and Jack Ingram.
Are you a signed?
No
You released your latest album ‘Honkiest Of Tonkers Album’, tell us more about the album and the meaning behind the album.
Music has always been part of my life, but my journey really started in the Children’s choir at First Baptist Church when I was cast in a lead role. That experience made me realize how much I loved singing and performing. From there, I was surrounded by classic country music at home, and my uncle introduced me to the guitar, teaching me a few Hank Williams songs. When he ran out of songs to teach, my dad recognized my passion and bought me my first guitar at 11—I wrote two songs that very same day.
A big turning point for me was meeting Dan Roberts, a seasoned songwriter who had worked with Garth Brooks. He opened my eyes to the possibility of turning music into a career and helped me start honing my songwriting. Fast forward a few years, and my song This Way of Life ended up on Yellowstone (Season 3, Episode 9), which was a game-changer. Music has always been a way for me to tell real stories, and I just want to keep writing and performing songs that connect with people.

What was the writing and recording process like?
I wrote or co-wrote all of these songs and some were recorded in Texas, some in Nashville. I was blessed to work with some of my best friends on this project. I love writing songs about my life and it’s always amazing when other people resonate with songs about my life. It makes me realize that I’m not alone and that lots of folks go through the same trials and triumphs that I do.
Who did you work with on the album?
These songs were produced by Corby Schaub and Dave Smith. Bryce Clark and Dave Smith provided the guitar work, while the groove was anchored by the exceptional drumming of John Chipman and Pat Manske.
Will we see music videos for any of the tracks and if so what can we expect from the creative process?
