It was a concoction of syllables that sounded good, the name rolls off the tongue.

Give us a little bio about you.
Vanarin is a Anglo-Italian Psych-Pop band that was formed in July, 2016, by David Paysden, Marco Sciacqua, Massimo Mantovani and Marco Brena. Their style of music is best described as a combination of Psych-Pop and Rock. The band has currently two eps and two full length albums under their belt, playing more than 150 gigs participating in big festivals like “Mi Ami”, “Radio Onda D’urto”, “Siren Festival” in Europe and “Zandari Festa”, “LUCFest” in Asia opening up for various international acts such as Battles, Thurston Moore, Public Image Ltd, Yellow Straps, The Rodeo, Silica Gel and HYBS.
What made you go into music?
We didn’t decide to go into music, it just happened. We can’t live without it, so why not share it?
Who are your influences?
Currently I’d say the biggest influences are: -James Blake, Tyler the Creator, Sheer mag, Slauson Malone 1 and Standing on the corner
Are you a signed?
Yes, we are signed to Dischi Sotterranei. An amazing label pushing emerging artists all over Italy.
You released your single ‘A Fly On The Wall’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
To put the song in a few words I’d say it’s the confidence in being idle, watching the world from the sidelines. You are the fly, the world is a big room full of stuff to observe as you peacefully exist.

What was the writing and recording process like?
We wrote, recorded and mixed everything at my studio, I call it the “Dave Cave”. It was cathartic and very rewarding, but like all projects had challenges and after the 24th time you’ve listened to the same song, it can make you go a little coo-coo.
Who did you work with on the track?
Ourselves
Can we expect a music video and if so tell us more about the making.
Your guess is as good as mine, we’re very impulsive about these things. If we get a good idea, there might be a music video and it could come out the next day, only time will tell.
Can we expect an EP or Album and if so, can you tease us a little.
I cannot confirm nor deny the possibility of there being an Album out towards the beginning of next year. With some special guest features like a goat bleating randomly in the tracks and one of our phones going off while recording the vocals. We kept all that good stuff.
Do you have any live shows coming up?
The live shows will officially begin in January and we should be touring all over Italy and hopefully Europe. We have a few early gigs just to test the waters a little before diving in, our closest gig will be on September 22nd at “Ul Caminett’” in Milan.
