Guitar music we play anything from indie pop to stuff boardering on metal.
Give us a little bio about you.
The Fods are a transatlantic writing and recording partnership who augment their unique indie Punk rock sound with some of the most talented vocalists around. Comprising of a rotating cast of collaborators, stretching back to long-standing writing partnerships from the ’90s right through to new cohorts found in the Wild West that is the internet. As a result the material is eclectic, but always guitar forward, genre traversing, energetic tunes. Writers, performers, collaborators and technicians contribute from anywhere across this earth, so each song will have its own individual sensation. As of Spring 2023 The Fods entered a “write an EP in a month” challenge, the result of which was the “One To Watch” EP, named after the accolade it was awarded. The lead-off single Gil Barco, was release on all streaming platforms on 14th July 2023, with the EP following on 13th October. In late 2023 The Fods started the Don’t ARgue project which revisits the very earliest ancestry of Good Stock Records, modernising tracks recorded on 4-track tape by the band of the same name in the early 1990’s. The lead single You’ve Not Got Me dropped late Dec 2023, with 2nd single My Fine Derangement in May 2024.
What made you go into music?
Like a lot of kids, especially in the 90s we wanted to be part of the scene.
Who are your influences?
Anything from the madchester scene to the grunge scene and anything in between. We love anything with a good tune and beat, no matter what genre
Are you a signed?
No
You released your EP ‘My Fine Derangement’ , tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the EP.
There is no real meaning behind it I don’t think. I was 18 when I wrote it, which was 30 years ago. I have no recollection of anything deep and meaningful. It’s just what sounded good and right at the time
What was the writing and recording process like?
We wrote the tunes in a bedroom in the 90s, redescovered them on a 4 track recording and set about trying to recreate them using modern technology. It’s all done remotely
Who did you work with on the EP?
Paul and I lay down the music and co produced it, and we got 4 different singers to cover the 7 songs on the ep
Can we expect a music video and if so tell us more about the making.
The first single “ you’ve not got me” has a video which the singer, Birch from GoBirch put together. It’s on our YouTube channel
Do you have any live shows coming up?
Nothing confirmed yet, but we would certainly like to showcase these tunes

Once the don’t argue EP is out, which we hope will be early August we have already started working on new original materials
