What are your names?
London (Bass/Vocals), Ella (Guitar), Lillee (Drums/Vocals) and Elena (Lead Vocals)

What is the band’s name?
Doll Riot

How did you come up with the bands name?
Our first bassist came up with the name she found from a surf video.

What is your genre of music?
A mix of punk/rock/riot grrrl

Give us a little bio about you.
In 2020, us four high schoolers from north county SD came together to form an all girl garage band. Initially covering various songs by idolized/influential rock & punk artists, we aspired to write their own music. In the midst of a pandemic unable to book shows, we found ourselves  in a rage of frustration and discouragement. It was shortly after our drummer moved away for college when we (vocalist Elena Olszak, guitarist Ella Sauer and bassist London Kraus) united with the younger but fierce drummer, Lillee Gillum. More determined than ever, we started playing shows regularly throughout SD county and it wasn’t long before we began the making of our wildly untamed original music. Our earlier original music was inspired by real life teenage dilemma (breakups, psycho ex-girlfriends, stereotypical tendencies).

What made you go into music?
London (bass/vocals in the band) says listening to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody was a big influence for her and the band.

Who are your influences?
Destroy Boys, Deftones, Scowl, Hole, Kittie

Are you signed?
No

You released your new single ‘Those Days’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the
song.

It’s about those mornings where you wake up and already know that your day is cursed from the start.

Describe the track in two words.
Shitty Day.

What was the writing and recording process like?
The guitar intro/main riff was inspired by surf punk. The bridge was re-written the day the song was recorded.

Who did you work with on the single?
Patrick Nolan (AKA “Paddy”) from the Tracks Studios.

Will we see a music video for ‘Those Days’’, and if so what can we expect from the creative process
like?

No video for this one, but more videos soon!

Will we see an EP or Album and If so, what can we expect from the creative process?
We’re working on an album currently and like to experiment with different sounds. So you can expect the album to be quite versatile.
