Give us a little bio about you.
I’m a Liverpool based artist combining alternative song writing and instrumentation with electronic elements & dance beats. My songs use quite emotional lyrics with a big sound.
Who are your influences?
From a song writing perspective I really love Florence + The Machine & London Grammar. I think their music is so simple but complex. Lyrics wise I’m obsessed with Daughter and Sam Fender, just powerful and honest lyrics that can sometimes feel uncomfortable. There’s also a part of me that is obsessed with dance and electronic music – artists like Faithless and Bicep who can create entire worlds and make you feel so much with beats and sounds. That’s so incredible to me.

You released your new single ‘Are You Awake?’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
‘Are You Awake?’ is a song about late night conversations over text and wanting something you shouldn’t. I was in a situation that I would never act on even though I might have really wanted to. It’s messy but honest I think. It’s my second single I’ve released and I’m honestly so excited, and a little bit nervous, for everyone to hear it.

What was the writing and recording process like?
I wrote the song about a year ago now on the piano and finished the whole thing in one sitting – I think it was something I really needed to let out. I recorded a rough demo and added some dance beats myself then we recorded the track properly in Liverpool at Material Studios in November last year!
Who did you work with on the single?
Jim Power at Material studios mixed and mastered the track and my amazing band played on the recording. There’s Flora Pratt on drums, Ronan Bradley on Bass and Matthew Francis on guitar. We’ve gained another guitarist since the recording, Ben McDonald, who plays with us live and all of them have added so much to the track – they’ve definitely elevated the song and helped bring the track to a place I honestly could only imagine when I first wrote it on my own at a piano in a rehearsal room at Uni.

No Music video yet but its something I’d love to do!

Just going to release some more singles over the next few months, I’m really excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on!
Do you have any live shows coming up?
Yes! We’ve got our first headline gig at Jimmy’s Liverpool on the 24th March and then we’re supporting Brandon Tew at QUARRY on the 14th April! So excited for both!

What else can we expect in early 2023?
I’m just focusing on writing and recording some new music to share & want to be playing live as much as possible! I can’t wait to get play my songs for people – some of them have been kept to myself for a long time.
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
I want to be living as a musician getting to write songs and share them with people. I’ve loved being able to work with my band and others to create this first round of music and It’s something I’m going to carry on doing!
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Something I tell myself and people struggling a lot is that things will be better in the morning… I think just the idea that life goes on and so do we, no matter how hard things can seem sometimes.
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
I’ll let you know after our first one! At the minute I’m trying not to forget a hundred and one things leading up to it!
