How did you come up with the band’s name?
The girls have ginger hair, and the family loves Country music. Dad’s first song he learned on the guitar was Folsom prison by Johnny Cash. Jeff always says it takes a lot of Kash to raise two koppers.

Country music

Give us a little bio about you.
Kopper and Kash is composed of dad (Jeff Pennycoff) and two daughters with spectacular talents like their father, Mia and Ava Pennycoff. After serving in the Navy at a young age, veteran/musician Jeff Pennycoff headed home to the River Valleys of Pennsylvania. With a song in his heart, this is where the traditions of Kopper and Kash, an American family band, would begin. This “modern-day Partridge Family” resides and tours in their home state of Pennsylvania, but has performed at some of the most prestigious Nashville venues such as the Bluebird Cafe. 

What made you go into music?
Mia and Ava have been singing on the worship team at church since they were 9 and 10 years old.
When dad needed a worship band the girls stepped to the stage.

Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Strait, and Alan Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Adele, Lainey, Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Haley Whittier’s

You released your new single ‘True Believer’, tell us more about the single and the meaning behind the song.
We believe that love and authentic relationships are important. You need those people in your life that you can always count on, no matter what happens. Like Ava said, when people don’t believe in you, “God always believes in you.”

What was the writing and recording process like?
This song was pitched to us by talented writers like Tori Martin, Troy Castellano, the late John Cirillo, Buddy Hyatt is the producer, tracks at Hilltop studios, and great musicians such as Brent Mason.

Who did you work with on the single?
Buddy Hyatt (producer)and Ronnie Palmer (engineer)

Will we see a music video for ‘True Believer’ and if so what can we expect from the creative process?
We are planning to do an acoustic performance for our next video. 

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect from it?
We plan to release an album later this year.

Will we see any new collaborations?
Yes, we have a new song, “Bars and Churches,” coming in the spring. We were just in the studio and recorded 2 new songs, “Dreamers Daughter” and “Dance Sing Live and Love.”

What else can we expect in 2023?
More music, a Christmas Song, and an album release. More performances in Nashville 

 

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
5 years from now, we see ourselves still pursuing music and playing at big venues. 

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
When things are too hard to say “Sing”- Elvis. 

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Tuner, capo smile, lyrics, and most importantly, to have fun.
