What made you go into music?
My mom is a musician so she’s had an influence on me since the very beginning – but also Hannah Montana haha, two very influential women helped my decision to go into music.
Who are your influences?
Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Julia Michaels
Are you signed?
No, I am currently unsigned!
You released your new single ‘SFL, tell us more about the single.
SFL stands for: searching for life. I wrote it at a point in my life where I felt extremely lost and anxious. I felt like I wasn’t living up to the expectations I had and my family had for my future. The song is kind of like an anthem to put all worries aside because life is a construct and the idea that we will “find” the answer to our questions is toxic as life is ever changing! We as beings are constantly looking for “it” (life) and that’s okay.
What is the meaning behind the single?
The meaning is to ultimately take life less seriously and to just do the things that truly make us happy. Literally nothing matters – you are living your own narrative and you control your plot! Main Character energy five ever.
What was the writing and recording process like?
JP (producer) had played around with some fun sounds and sent me the first 2 bars of the intro. I remember sitting with the sound on my phone and I wrote the lyrics and melody in the passenger seat while driving from Atlanta to Boston for Thanksgiving. We recorded the vocals before Thanksgiving dinner haha.
Describe the track in two words.
Who did you work with on the single?
With JP (producer) and Jade (artist/producer) aka the Coachettes, aka my 2 fav people in the world
