Jennifer Stewart is a distinctive new artist and singer/songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland. Her recent single ‘No Hard Feelings’ released Friday 3rd June is an uplifting breakup song about finally being over your ex and having no hard feelings.  Last year she released her debut EP ‘Redlight’, a honest self-reflective body of work detailing her struggles with self-criticism and overcoming heartbreak. Inspired by musical influences such as HAIM and Fleetwood Mac, her style fuses indie guitar influences, with her love of vocal harmonies and pop melodies. The rising newcomer has already had a lot of support from BBC Introducing Scotland and has received a lot of support by Spotifys editorial playlists such as ‘New Pop UK’ and ‘Fresh Finds: Pop’ showing a promising start for the independent artist. The Edinburgh-born singer is writing happy/sad pop songs, shining a light on real emotions everyone faces. The new artist wants to bring back the joy of music and provoke relatable, genuine meanings to songs again.

‘No Hard Feelings’ is an upbeat indie pop track about finally getting over a break up and being happy being independent again. The song was written to feel anthemic and uplifting for anyone going through the same thing.

What is the meaning behind the single?
I was going through a break up and having a bit or a rough time but I  just woke up one morning and felt okay about it all one day. I wanted to write a positive break up song showing that it’s okay and things will eventually get better.

What was the writing and recording process like?
I co wrote the song with my friend who i write with a lot who is alo an amazing song writer (Carys Selvey) we worked on it together the same day with our friend Mack who produced it – it came together pretty quickly.
