What is your name?
Kelsey Gill

What is your genre of music?
I’d say it’s pop with a flavour of r&b & soul to it. I do think some of my future tracks have a little bit of a rockier edge too.

Give us a little bio about you.
I’m a Northern lass from Lancashire, love my food,  fitness and of course music. Very close to my family & my team.  I was once a professional horse rider for Great Britain in a former life.
I have sang since I can remember, playing music  with my family in my Dads band and at open mic nights, I auditioned for a few things that got me a little exposure but then had my first release with the amazing Yellow claw which was a feature, the album reached the top of the billboard hit seekers charts in the states and was alongside DJ snake and ASAP ferg on the album. It was a dream. After that I had a few amazing features & done some amazing collabs with some incredible talents, written loads and loads of songs and supported the likes of Becky Hill alongside Fuse ODG & the digital farm animals. Now putting out my own music navigating my way through life and the crazy music business.

What made you go into music?
Just my love for singing , performing live gave me a buzz from childhood and I love writing songs. It all really started from getting up Infront of people & watching my idols perform.

Are you signed?
Yes I’m working with a label in Nashville ironically where the songs were created. They are called Good partners through Virgin music I have a great team and management behind me that are all my friends that I have been on a journey with it’s like a family!

Your new single  ‘Rob Me Blind’, tell us more about it. What is the meaning behind the single?
The lyrics are about not settling for less. It stems from those girlie conversations when your consoling friends going through a break up and talking and over analysing what’s happened like we do. Difference is this song is about how I personally didn’t feel that cut up from my own experience cos I must not have felt that can’t live without love we all crave. It’s about strength in independence and to help empower us through the tough times and brush yourself off, it’s sassy, fun and sexy. It’s a feel good song with a touch of old skool funk inspired from the 90s!  It’s also got a few hidden innuendos in there but I’ll let you figure that out when you hear it ha ha!

What was the writing and recording process like?
The song was written by me and two talented friends in the states (DQ & Jorge). We were hanging out writing and the DQ started playing a cool bass line and we decided to write something around it. We wanted to write something that was positive – not another sad love song.

Describe the track in two words.
