INTRODUCING HIP-POP ARTIST ‘OBEEYAY’ AND HIS BRAND NEW MUSIC THAT HAS DROPPED NOW. WE GOT TO CHAT ABOUT THE CREATION OF ‘HARD’ AND YOU CAN READ IT RIGHT HERE AND MORE!

No description available.

What is your name?
“Obeeyay!”

What is your genre of music?
“Pop/Hip-Hop or for short Hip-Pop.”

Give us your bio?
“I am a Pop/Hip-Hop recording artist. My music is a good time. From Tribe Called Quest to Will.I.Am, to T-Pain, all these artists at one point in time held the torch of a new sound in their hand. I’m here to carry that torch”

What made you want to go into music?
My Mom being a voice teacher for over 40 years really impacted my home. I was surrounded by music at an early age and grew up in it. I also had 7 older siblings who loved to sing too, so singing competitions was a daily thing. Sort of became a ritual between us siblings.

Who are your influences?
“I would have to put Michael Jackson and Usher at the top of my list.”

Describe your working relationship with your record label?
“They are awesome. Seriously. This is my first time being signed to a label, and it’s been cool seeing how an outside perspective can enhance the quality of a brand.”

You are set to release your new single ‘Hard’, tell us more about the single.
“I wrote this song like 3 years ago at Paramount Recording Studios. The engineer I would record with happened to work there and after he had finished all of his sessions that day, called me and told me to come through. I was working with Producer Sensho at the time and the moment I heard the beat, it hit home. I used to date a girl who I was on and off with since high school, and a lot of different people had opinions about us as a couple. We got back together after high school in Utah and she decided to move close to where I was in California. This was a shock to a lot of people. I got tired of what people thought, and out of frustration, I wrote this song, Hard. Really just to prove people wrong when you’re doing what you think is right. It’s like nothing else really matters, it’s just noise.”

What is the meaning behind the single?
“To do YOU and not worry about what everyone else thinks, especially when it comes to someone you care about!”

What was the writing and recording process like?
“Sensho gave his input as I freestyled melody ideas on the mic. And when we both agreed on something we moved on to the next part of the song.”

Describe the track in two words.
“Massive Energy!”

Who did you work with on the single?
“I worked with Sensho. He’s a brilliant mind and someone I trust in terms of his hip hop and pop beat-making abilities. It really leans toward my direction of music.”

Will we see a Music video or promotional visuals for  ‘‘Hard?’ If so, what can we expect from the creative process?
“I decided to go a different direction and just be 1 on 1 and more authentic with my fans for this single by doing short tik tok videos. So on TikTok ”

What can your fans expect from your upcoming EP, “Winnin’?”
“A good time. That’s it.”

Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up and if so let us know where we can catch you at?
“Not yet, we have some things in the works so stay tuned for that.”

What else can we expect in 2022?
“Some shows are in the works and some brand new collaborations.”

Will we see any collaborations and if so can you tell us more about them?
“King Los is on my debut EP. I originally met King Los through a mutual friend. He wanted me to start engineering King Los’s sessions in Los Angeles and I did. It didn’t take me long, maybe 3 minutes into the session, to realize who I was working with. I was blown away by his lyrical content and off-the-cuff freestyles. He would literally freestyle for 10 minutes straight in the studio and every line came out perfectly. When I shared Winnin’ to King Los he was on board and mentioned later on ‘Yup… it’s a hit.’ He took Winnin’ to the next level.”

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
“Making an impact with my music globally.”

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“If you believe it, you can achieve it”

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
“Can’t forget a towel!”
Bring a water bottle!
Bring your merch!
Bring your DJ! If there’s not a dj, who’s gonna play the tracks and be a hype man for you?!
Bring your best self!”
