No description available.

Please introduce yourselves!
Hi I’m James, I play guitar and also backing vocals
I’m Guy, I play guitar and lead vocals
Zal, I’m on drums
And I’m Josh, I play bass

How did you come up with the band name?
Josh: I don’t think any of us really remember but we think it was just 2 random words put together. We should probably think of a cool story though…

How would you describe your genre of music?
Zal: I think there’s two sides to the bands sound. We all love a smooth slow jam but also an up-tempo bop. Maybe alt-indie covers it?
James: Well you can dance to it or sit and feel pretty deep I guess – that’s what it makes me do anyway
Guy: Yeah maybe soulful indie-pop?

What got you into music?
Zal: School of Rock made me believe I could do it.
James: I used to sing along to Robbie Williams in my room, my mum had his greatest hits from the early naughties. Still love it haha

Who are your biggest influences?
James: I’m gonna go for Gorillaz – The Police
Zal: Funky beats and older pop like The Beatles do it for me

You just released your brand new single ‘Tell Me Something Good’. Tell us more about the song and the meaning behind it.
James: I’ll leave that to Guy as we don’t really process songs together in that sorta way, we jam/write it separately. So can only speak about the lyrical meaning I guess
Guy: Tell Me Something Good is about the desire for positive reinforcement in relationships. It’s exploring how one-sided relationships can be; how you can always be trying to have the other person’s back, even if they don’t have yours. It’s about trying to support your friend/partner/lover when they might just be throwing it back in your face and you know you shouldn’t continue trying, but that’s hard to accept.

What was the writing and recording process like?
James: Guy writes the melodies and then we just work the song around that mostly by jamming it over and over. Thank god for iPhones voice recording app
Guy: Yeah then we spend a day in the drum studio where Zal records drums, then the rest we do at James’ studio – The Boudoir.

Describe the track in two words.
James: Warm Rhythm
Josh: Upbeat indie?

Did you collaborate with anyone on the single?
James: No we haven’t done collabs with anyone at all actually, could be fun though.
Josh: No collaborating but a rapper reached out on Twitter asking to lay a verse on Summer Nights so looking forward to hearing that.

Will we see any live shows coming up, and if so where will you be heading?
Guy: We just finished up some glorious shows so winding down until next year now.
Josh: Yeah we have a headline show in Jimmy’s hometown Birmingham on the 8th Dec
Zal: And a couple of Sofar Sounds shows in London in Dec, they’re always fun to play
James: We’re always asked online about playing America so hopefully 2022 will take us out there?

What else can we expect in early 2022?
Zal: Trying to get enough songs recorded for an album, just putting it out there🤞
James: More songs – more gigs – hopefully generally more cool content

Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?
James: Alive and Kicking – Simple Minds

Is there a quote or saying that you always stick by?
Zal: ‘As long as the cake turns out well it doesn’t matter if the kitchen gets a little bit messy’

Where can listeners find you on social media?
James: We’re most active on Instagram but we’re on all of them, find us @naturetvband
