What made you go into music?
It started in high school, I had this desire to learn guitar and when I went to UCLA for a college program the summer between 10th and 11th grade I took a class and learned how to play. I taught myself a bunch of songs over the years (mostly Dave Matthews). The bulk of the story comes from my injuries. I tore my left ACL senior year of high school, which was my first major injury and I lost my senior year season for golf (I was an all county golfer back in the day). A year later during a rush event at college I ended up tearing my right meniscus (bucket handle tear which is extremely painful). For the next few years I was relatively healthy, until April of my senior year when I randomly couldn’t get up from my bed after some pickup basketball, which ended up being 2 herniated discs. The period thereafter was the most debilitating 2 years of my life, but I was finally recovering from my back injury and started playing basketball again. Maybe my 3rd or 4th time playing I end up tearing my ACL in my right knee. At that point I was just so dejected and unknowingly depressed. I pushed off surgery because I was so done with the injuries and the rehabs. Finally in November of 2018 I got the surgery and decided to make some mindset and lifestyle changes. I became a more positive person and put myself back on the right path to being who I am supposed to be as a person. It was the next summer in 2019 that I returned to playing guitar, as well as golf. That summer manifested itself from my roommate telling me I sounded amazing in my apartment, all the way to getting vocal lessons for the first time in Nov of 2019. Throughout the pandemic I have been able to practice and practice and practice and I have reached a point where I feel like I am truly meant to do this. I had never written a song before thanksgiving of last year and have now released 7 songs with more on the way!

You released your new single ‘Who You Are’, tell us more about the single.
Who You Are is a track that is inspired by the early part of a relationship when you feel like you have opened up and shared your insecurities with your partner, but don’t feel like it has been reciprocated. It is a hopeful vibe that basically shares that moment when you say I am in love with this person and I am going to share it with them, and I hope that they feel the same way. The message is truly to not hold back your feelings for that person when they are as strong as they are.
What was the writing and recording process like?
I wrote and tracked the song back in April 2021 with my buddy Robbie Rosen, and pitched it to Marin Hoxha who produced the track. Once we went through a couple of revision sessions we pitched it to 7Clouds who picked up the song to be released.
