What is your name?
Ashliegh Lisset

What is your genre of music?
Country

Give us a little bio about you.
I am an independent singer/songwriter and Texas native. I’ve opened for Sam Hunt, Tyler Farr, Brett Young, Joe Diffie and Jerrod Niemann, just to name a few. I’ve also performed at Nashville’s CMA Fest and that’s always so fun! I have partnered with brands like Bud Light, St. Ives, National Geographic, Just Fab, and 310 Nutrition, and my current single “Stop the Bullet” is now available on all streaming platforms.

What made you go into music?
My dad asked if I could record Carrie Underwood’s song “Forget To Remember Me” before he deployed. I never got the chance to do it. Music ended up being very therapeutic for me and from that moment on I decided to pursue it.

Who are your influences?
Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and pretty much any 80s rock band!

Are you signed?
No, I am not currently signed.

You recently released your new single ‘Stop The Bullet’, tell us more about the single.
“Stop The Bullet” was pitched to me and the minute I heard the demo I thought “YES! This is the perfect come back single!” Everything from the lyrics to the melody and to the instruments just resonate with me. It is a great song and I’m so glad I was able to cut it.

What is the meaning behind the single?
To me, it’s just a powerful message to always be careful with your words. There is a lot of power in what you say and this song basically tells you to think before you speak…which is something we have all heard a time or two in our lives.

What was the writing and recording process like?
The recording process was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in the studio in a long time. We did the tracking in Nashville at The Castle Recording Studio and just the energy and overall vibe of the place really helps at the tone for the music. I know that sounds strange, but you feel very comfortable and calm in the studio is one of the things that I always look for! Then we ended up recording the vocals in my hometown of Dallas, and it took a few hours, but I wanted to make sure that I was happy with every single part of the song.

Describe the track in two words.
Powerful and Inspiring.

Who did you work with on the single?
Eric Legg was my producer for this single. I’ve worked with him before and I knew that he would deliver a top-notch project.

Will we see a Music video for ‘Stop The Bullet’ and if so, what can we expect from it?
I’m not sure just yet…but if I do, I would definitely want it to be a video that will resonate for everyone watching/listening.

Will we see a EP or Album and if so what can we expect from it.
Possibly an EP. I’m still working on a few more things musically, but rest assured, more music will most definitely be coming!

Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up and if so let us know where we can catch you at?
I plan on starting to perform again next year, late spring, and I’ll definitely keep everyone posted on where they can come see me at!

What else can we expect at the end of 2021/ Early 2022?
End of 2021 – just promoting “Stop the Bullet” and I’d like to get an acoustic cover up of it as well.
Early 2022 – I’ll starting moving towards promoting the second single!

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Still doing music, and showing people that there is hope after tragedy.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Be fearless in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Vocal warm ups. Water. My smile. Microphone. And BIG hair, because I’m a Texas girl!

I do, I have Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTubewww.youtube.com/AshlieghLisset, and Tiktok.
