What is your name?
Tilde
What is your genre of music?
Soul and pop
Give us a little bio about you.
Born and raised in the Swedish Town of Gothenburg and I’ve been doing music most of my life. I released my debut album Nothing Gold Can Stay in 2018 and I’m just about to release my second album ”Pink Moon”.
What made you go into music?
I started when I was very little so I don’t really remember not doing music. I guess music was always around and from an early age I just loved how music would make me feel things. How it could console me, make me happy, sad, passionate – everything. So yes, that’s probably what made me go into music.
Who are your influences?
Many but in different periods of my life but some of the most important are probably Nina Simone, Carole King, Bob Dylan, Amy Winehouse, Donny Hathaway.
Are you signed?
I am not but I have my own label ”Vacanze Records”.
You released your single ‘Say That Our Love’, tell us more about the single.
It’s the 5th single from my upcoming singlel ”Pink Moon”. I wrote the song some years ago and I’ve really been longing to record it.
What is the meaning behind the single?
It’s a pretty emotional song talking about a destructive relationship and even though you know that it’s bad for you, you find it so hard to walk out.
What was the writing and recording process like?
”Say that our love” was one of those songs that just came all at once. The lyrics and music. The recording process was also pretty fast. We recorded it live ( as the album) at a studio outside of Gothenburg.
Describe the track in two words.
Heartfelt and passionate
Who did you work with on the single?
Some musician friends and we recorded it at Spinroad Studio outside of Gothenburg.
Will we see a Music video for the single and if so, what can we expect from it?
We were! But, we had to pause the recording due to a horse injury unfortunately. Now, it’s paused but maybe maybe we can do something later on. We have to wait and see.
BUT, there will be a video coming out for the title track of the album ”Pink Moon” so stay tuned for that.
You also released your new album ‘Pink Moon’, tell us more about what we can expect from it and what the making process was like.
It was a bit strange I have to say. I mean at first it went really ”well”. I was writing a lot and started recording it not long after the first album but then the pandemic happened and that just kind of stopped everything. No gigs and so much uncertainty. As for everyone. So it really feels as if this album was created inside a weird little bubble. You can expect a more dreamy and cinematic sound and maybe a bit more introspective. I ’ve been traveling to pretty dark places recording the album (emotionally I mean, haven’t travelled anywhere else these past years) and questioning a lot of things.
Describe each track in two words.
Love Me Till You Die – Light and nostalgic
Don’t Walk Down That Road – Dark and soulful
Say That Our Love – Heartfelt and passionate
It’s You – Tender and troubled
Call My Name – Hopeful and romantic
Pink Moon – Meditative and cathartic
Fallin’ – Dreamy and lonely
A Little Less Me – Spiritual and weary
Do you have any live shows or a tour coming up and if so let us know where we can catch you.
I have some planned in Sweden but hopefully there will be some shows in the UK next year!
What else can we expect in 2021?
My album is released on the 19th of November and then I have some shows coming up in December. I will also do a live session in December that will be released in the beginning of the year and I’ve kinda started sketching up the third album.
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
At the Grammys!
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
I don’t think I stick by any sayings to be honest but I like ”Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.”
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
I have a few rituals that I always try and do. I always have these crystals with me and things that remind me of my heroes.
