Moscow-Tokio.
Hailing from Moscow, ILZE is Russia’s undiscovered indie-popstress, with
several enchanting releases in her motherland that enchanted Quickfix.
Her tender 19 years so far have been spent living in Japan as a child, playing
a young Queen Elizabeth II in the Vahtangov theatre and of course, singing.
Now, studying at the National Theatre Institute, her undying dedication the
theatrical arts has resulted in a creative process full of mystery, enigmatic
storytelling and an angelic voice.

my soul, my mind and my dance classes

I’m signed to Quickfix Recordings currently but am a free agent as my contract allows me freedom
You released your new single ‘Monster’, tell us more about the single.
no need to romanticize a bad attitude towards yourself. you just need to run away
from monsters, if only out of respect for yourself. this song expresses my condition
at the time of writing. now everything has changed. experience is a gain..
What is the meaning behind the single?
a story about how important it is to stay a human in any situation!
What was the writing and recording process like?
I compose music and write lyrics myself, at home, I usually record it lying on the
floor in the dark)

Who did you work with on the EP?
worked with Cheprox on «monster» and the rest are remixes by orchestra caelestis,
the sexy wild east, JTDNB and lee christian by which I mean that they reimagined
the songs without me having any input. It was nice to hear the different styles and
interpretations and I listen to some quite a lot. I appreciate the producers hard work.
Will we see a EP or Album and if so what can we expect in 2021?

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
I think you need to live in the present moment and enjoy it
What quote or saying do you always stick by?
at my first concert, I will take care of the comfort for my future team, for my
audience, the quality of the musical equipment, my appearance and about the smell
(atmosphere) in the building. I want to give everyone my branded chupa chups
When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
I have not yet performed a ‘gig’ but I have performed lots on stage of course at Vahtangov Theatre
etc *ILZE just finished playing a young Queen Elizabeth II at said Theatre and is a working actress
starring in a new series starting soon on Russian tv, while studying at the National Theatre Institute
