What is your name?
Thomas Fountain
What is your genre of music?
Country
Give us a little bio about you.
I’m a country singer/songwriter from the North Georgia area. My music has a little bit of a 90’s feel with a little modern mixed in. I have toured 8 states and shared the stage with names like Chris Stapleton, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt, Trace Adkins, Bret Young, and more.
What made you go into music?
Music kind of found it’s way to me. Through a struggle in life I turned to it for therapy. That’s when I became serious about my song writing. From there things just progressed and still continue to do so.
Who are your influences?
Probably the members of my first band. I was very fortunate to play with some seasoned pros at the time. I was new to being in a band and was very green at the time. I’m not sure what they saw in me but I’m glad they did. They not only taught me how to play music but they also taught me how to respect it.
Are you signed?
Totally independent
You released your single ‘It Don’t Matter’, tell us more about the single.
The single is a fun, grab your buddies and have a beer song. It’s my first real rowdy honky tonk party tune
What is the meaning behind the single?
The basis is pretty classic. The guy gets left by his girl and he ends up at the bar with his buddies drinkin’ his sorrows away
What was the writing and recording process like?
It was a blast. The last chorus is sang by some friends and even the studio engineer. It’s sounds like a crowd in a bar singing along.
Describe the track in two words.
We’re drunk
Who did you work with on the single?
Wyatt McCubbin and Aaron Ratiere wrote the song. It started out as kind of a bluegrass song and we gave it a honky tonk vibe. The song was recorded at Rukkus Room in Nahsville. Jamie Tate was the producer
You also released a Music Video for the single, what was the creative process like?
I am really hands on with all of my music videos and particular about coming up with a story line. With “It Don’t Matter” it was much different. I told the videographer, no plan this time. Just let the cast drink and film what happens. We did and it turned out great. It’s hilarious

What else can we expect in 2021?
Hopefully getting back out on the road and playing shows consistently. I have one more single to release in the coming months and then I’ll be back to writing/recording new music
Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Just doing what I love for and living and still being relevant.
