What are your names?
Conrad, Sam, Lewis and Jake

What is the band’s name?
The Luka State

How did you come up with the band’s name?
The name means positive mental attitude, we met a guy called Luka whilst touring in Toronto. His infectious mind set rubbed off on the philosophy of this band.

What is your genre of music?
Rock n roll baby!

Give us a little bio about you.
There’s so much to tell really. We all grew up in a little town called Winsford in the North of the UK. Sam, Lewis and I have known each other since school and Jake on the drums we pinched from another band about 5 years ago. Our first ever show as The Luka state was actually in Berlin and we’ve never stopped gigging. We live for it.

What made you go into music?
From an early age I was obsessed with music. Music was always around me and my family and I ended up getting my first guitar when I was 8 years old. The rest is history and here we are.

Who are your influences?
People, stories, the experience of life. Musically it has The Beatles it starts and ends with The Beatles for me personally.

Are you a signed?
Yes to Shelter BMG in Europe and AntiFragile for America and the rest of the world

You released your new album ‘Fall In Fall Out’, tell us more about the album.
It’s a record about growing up in your 20s in a small working class town in the northwest of England. However I think anybody can relate to what we are talking about and the subject matter of the record
It’s British Rock n Roll and it’s in your face and loud.. we like it that way.

Describe each track in two words.
Feel It – Fantastic Opener
Bury Me – Fierce’n’Loud
Kick In The Teeth – Dance Rock
Fake News – Raw Power
Real Thing – Sleazy Lustful
Girl – Festival Banger
Bold – Delicate Honest
Room’s On Fire – Hot N Sweaty
[Insert Girls Name Here] – Storytelling, Escapism
Fall In Fall Out Beautiful Anthem
What’s My Problem – Rock N Roll
(Outro) – Cheeky fun

Who did you work with on the album?
We recorded the album with this musical wizard Jamie Evans at The Pool recording studio in London. We then got Alan Moulder to mix half of the record. If you don’t know him check out his work. He’s mixed some huge records.

What was the writing and recording process like?
We’re a live band and we capture the magic in this band by being together in the room. This album is recorded entirely of the floor and what your hearing is the raw energy that this band captures when firing on all cylinders. The writing process was an usual one, this record feels like a lifetimes work of a collection of songs. There was 75 picked for selection and the best 12 made the cut.

Will we see a music video for any of the tracks?
Just check out our youtube, There’s LOADS of videos. We love making videos. It’s a great way to express yourself and have fun.

Will we see an EP or Album this year and if so what can we expect?
Who knows. We’ve just dropped our debut album Fall In Fall Out and announced a tour so we’re kinda busy already, but lets see how 2021 unfolds.

What else can we expect in 2021?
GIGS GIGS GIGS. We would like a nice string of shows under our belt by the end of 2021. We’re so excited to come to America and show you what we’re all about… see you on the road

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
To be content as a musician. To have a solid body of work behind us and an army of fans. We would like to be flying the firm flag for British Rock n Roll…

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Everything will be ok in the end, if it’s not ok it’s not the end” – John Lennon
