What is your names?
Darren Roy (vocals, acoustic guitar), Michael Roy (drums, electric guitar, bass, electric guitar). Darren is a singer songwriter that goes by the name Karma Surround. Michael also writes a lot of the music, records and mixes everything. The songs are played live with vocals and acoustic guitar.

What is your genre of music?
Our genre of music is indie rock n roll.

Give us a bio about you?
I’m a singer songwriter from Fife, Scotland. I write and record music with my brother in our make shift and home made studio. I like to write short, catchy and chilled out melody’s with catchy guitar riffs. The plan is to release the debut double a side single do you wonder/stars of the last magnitude on bandcamp but for now we have put the songs on soundcloud. The link is as follows. https://soundcloud.com/karmasurround The long term plan is to release an album on bandcamp in June of this year and to start gigging once the Covid crisis subsides.

What made you go into music?
I played the melodies on acoustic guitar to Michael in November. Michael bought a behringer umc22 and the recording process commenced the following month.

Who are your influences?
Influences are Teenage Fanclub, Jesus and Mary Chain, Noel Gallagher, Denis Wilson and Ride.

Are you a signed?
No we aren’t signed to any record label or publishing deal.

Tell us more about your music and when we can expect it.
Do you wonder/ stars of the last magnitude are on soundcloud and bandcamp.

Will we see a music video for the track?
If the covid crisis eases and restrictions lift we might do a video. If anyone has any ideas how to go about this at this challenging time I am open to any ideas.

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect?
The plan is to release the debut album in June this year.

What else can we expect in Early 2021?
The long term plan is to try and use different avenues such as the Internet and radio to get the music out there to as many people as possible.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Hopefully still writing and recording music.

Melody is king

The atmosphere, vibe, conversations about music, new ideas and dreams for the future.

To be honest I’m extremely wary of spotify, I Tunes etc. Mainly due to the poor financial return they give to artists for thousands of streams or sales. We aren’t in it for the money but the model favours mass profit for these companies.
