Give us a bio about you as a band?
The newly formed NADUH is a group to look out for. Hailing from currently known as Vancouver, BC, this power group is nothing short of eclectic and diverse. With influences from 90’s R&B, Funk, Soul, and modern hip-hop, Naduh has created a sultry sound laced with style and power. The self proclaimed “SOFT/HARD” music they make, is representative of their queer- femme/tomboy identities, as they dance between themes of empowerment and juicy realness. Composed of vocalists Jenny Lea, Larisa Marie, Rosita Alcantara, Giorgi, and producer/vocalist Taraneh (formerly Tee Krispil) – the group is a force to be reckoned with. In house production means they truly have crafted a sound that’s representative of their collective energy- and you can feel that in the music. The group has a long list of individual accomplishments including successful tours, large scale performances, Canadian awards, stellar event productions, and more. Just creep one of the members and you’ll be engulfed within seconds.

You have released your debut single ‘Mawnin’, tell us more about the single.
Their debut track, Mawnin’, is the first song the group wrote together over hot tea and discussions of astral projection and a shared love for romancing in the mornings. It sets a saucy tone for those who love a good breakfast in bed, a little coffee with head. There’s no beating around the bush on Mawnin’, getting lost in sensual production from Taraneh, and sultry vocals evoking visuals of sunlight pouring over naked bodies.

What is the meaning behind the single?
More morning sex. For us, it isn’t about being overtly provocative just for the sake of it. Every time we reference our sexuality through our music, it’s a reclamation of our autonomy as empowered women. It isn’t always easy for us to be so open, but it’s a part of our growth journey to be able to free ourselves of shame, to embody and embrace our sexuality.

Describe the track in two words.
Morning. Sex.

What was the writing process like?
We just drank tea, wrote, sang a lil, started singing about morning sex, and then did a demo on the iPhone voice note and BAM! A song.

What was the recording process like?
We recorded at FPE studios, it was a sunny Sunday heightened with herbal potions and meditation.
