What are your names?
Andrew, David, and Jules

What is the band’s name?
Love Angeles

How did you come up with the band’s name?
When the band first started I (David) wrote a song but had no vocals/lyrics. So then at the time we had a different singer and he wrote a song called Love Angeles about how his long distance girlfriend came to live with him. So he picked her up from Los Angeles Airport, then a year later they broke up so he had to drive her back to Los Angeles Airport to drop her off, so he wrote a song about that experience. The drummer liked the name of the song so much we decided to use that name as our band name.

What is your genre of music?
Pop/Rock/Indie

Give us a little bio about you as a band.
Love Angeles was started many many years ago by 2 friends living together. Both would write songs but neither could agree who the singer should be, so they decided the best was to find a singer. They found Anthony Catalano (Little Hurricane) and they started filling out the rest of the band. They started to record their first EP, when the drummer Ed Larsen (Reel Big Fish) left off to college. After that Anthony left to form a new band, leaving just David as the last member. He decided to reform the line up with all new people and record a new EP. After about a year, like most bands do, they slowly started breaking up. David then joined his friends band Good Morning Orbit and put Love Angeles on the back burner. After years of being in Good Morning Orbit, David had built up many songs of his own, and decided to leave Good Morning Orbit to really try and push his song writing to the test. Instead of getting a band together then recording the album, he decided to record the album first on his own, to really solidify how he thought Love Angeles’ sound should be. He went to record “The Hero In Me” Ep, and once released he formed a band around that album. After some bandmate changes they solidified their current line up with Andrew on Guitar and Jules on Drums and David on Guitar/Vocals. After many shows and sharing the stage with many bands. They took a break to focus on their next album “The Scenic Route To Mars”

You have just comeback into the scene after hiatus, what can we expect from you that we didn’t before?
Well we just came out with a full length album, our previous album was only 6 song EP. This is definitely our best work so far.

You have released your new single ‘Unstoppable’, tell us more about the single.
This was the last song I wrote for the album. After I wrote it, I sent it out to some of the producers that worked on the album. None of them really liked it. But I had a vision for this song, and decided to put it on the album. It ended up being one of our best songs on the album

What is the meaning behind the single?
Its about following your goals/dream, even though most people tell you you’re not special and just get in your way.

Describe the track in two words.
Intense, driven

What was the writing process like?
Normally for all songs, I (David) will sit and write on my acoustic guitar. I just play around with chords and melodies until I find something that sounds good. Then I’ll sit down and record the entire song on my computer, Drums, Guitars, Bass, Synths, vocals, lyrics, ect… Then once I have the entire song finished I’ll show it to the band or producers to see what they think. From there the band will sometimes take my direction and add a few things of their own style into it, and then we will go and record it officially in a recording studio.

What was the recording process like?
We recorded most of the album at Jason Mraz’s house. He has a home studio and so we went there and recorded most of the songs off the album. A few of the songs which I worked directly with producers I went up to LA to record.

Who did you work with on the single?
I pretty much self produced this single. The band and I recorded it then I went back and produced it. Then had it mixed by Mark Suhonen .

Will we a music video for the tracks?

Yes here it is.

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect?
Yes there is an album coming. Sept 4th.

Are you a signed?
No we are not signed, we almost were to a smaller label our music lawyer highly suggested not to sign with them and to wait for a better opportunity.

Do you have any online shows coming up? If so where can we find them?
Well we are working on getting a live stream going, hopefully in the next couple months we will have something locked down on a schedule.

What else can we expect in 2020?
Well our album will be released then we are hoping to find a good tour to go on maybe by the end of the year or next.

What made you go into music?
Music just moved me in such a way that is unexplainable. I was just drawn to it and wanted to create. Its a nice feeling creating something from nothing.

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any upcoming artists?
None at the moment.

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? and who would they have to contact?
Yes I would. They should contact me (David)

Yes I (David) play guitar and sing. (Andrew) play lead guitar, (Jules) Drums

Who are your influences?
Goo Goo Dolls, Blink 182, Sam Hunt, The Script, American Authors, Lit

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
Either I have a something I want to say, or I have a cool idea, or maybe its just a single word. Then that starts the process, sometimes I have nothing at all and just see what happens.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Hopefully have a couple albums under our belt, and have gone on some really good tours. Have some songs synced for licensing.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?
Blink 182 – Enema of the state (Album) and Goo Goo Dolls – Dizzy up the girl (Album)

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
Invest in yourself because no one else will.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Each person in the band or solo, save your money. Put it away so when needed you have money for doing something, either recording or promotions or whatever. Make sure you have money or nothing will get accomplished. You need money to make money.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
With great power comes great responsibility.

Home to see my gf and 2 dogs.
2/ Who do you see first? Gf and 2 dogs.
3/What do you eat first? Mac and cheese or pizza

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Tune my guitars right before, replay through lyrics I have trouble with, make sure everyone is there early, make a list of all our gear to make sure we got everything, take my wallet/phone/keys out of my pockets.
