How did you come up with the bands name?
The band’s name is a Star Wars reference, its the call sign of an X-wing that gets shot down and explodes.

What is your genre of music?
Good umbrella genres to describe Redsix are alternative rock or pop rock.

Give us a little bio of you as a band.
Redsix was established in 2018, by members Denny and Kevin, and completed its line up after an extensive search, resulting in the release of our debut album “Uproar”. Redsix is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and started as a pop punk band.

What made you go into music?
We think all of our members would eventually delve into music at some point, considering the deep rooted influence of music in all of the members ’personal histories.

Are you signed?
Redsix is currently not signed as is operating independently.

You have released the new single “Vessel”. Tell us about the single.
“Vessel” is actually a song pulled from a vault of songs we had stored from years ago, who’s original version felt out of place and half-baked compared to other songs we had written at the time. We decided that after five years and six different versions of the song, that it was finally at a place where we could finally feel good with releasing it

What is the meaning behind the single?
The single generally explores the passionate emotions within a relationship.

Weirdly attractive

Who did you work with on the single?
The only external producing was done by our audio engineer, Dio Nugroho.

Will we see a music video for the tracks?
There is a music video for “Vessel” currently available on Youtube

Will we see an EP or album coming up and if so when can we expect it?
An EP consisting of the four singles released this year will be available after the release of the fourth and upcoming single later on in the year, most likely towards the end of 2020

Do you have any online shows coming up?
We are planning plenty of online content coming out very soon, within the coming month. Stay tuned to our social media for any updates.

What else can we expect in 2020?
Our fourth and final single for this year will be released within the next few months, and at the end of the year the four songs released this year will be compiled into an EP.

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any up coming artists?
The only content we have coming up involving a collaboration with other artists is a cover video coming out within the next month.

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? who would they have to contact?
We are always really excited to collaborate with fellow artists. We can be reached through direct messaging or personal messaging our Instagram or Twitter accounts and are always excited to chat with future collaborators.

Do you play any instruments?
Yes. Redsix follows a generally standard rock-band formation.

Who are your influences?
Redsix is influenced by a very large spectrum of bands and artists, from Fall Out Boy to Toto and Blink 182 to Hall and Oates. We think being able to pull from such a large spectrum of references is what makes writing Redsix songs really fun.

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
Usually we’ll start with an interesting hook, whether it be a vocal part, guitar riff, or drum fill. From there, everyone usually builds on top of that until a song comes together. Inspiration to write can come quite randomly from anywhere at anytime because of anything.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully still doing music, operating within a larger community and with more resources as to not restrict the creative process.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more into the music scene?
I think with a band that has members with such a large spectrum of influences its hard to pick out just one song that really drove all of us to delve into music. We definitely do personally have that one really fire-starting song though.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
We’d like to pass on the previous advice answered in the question before, as well as to tell them that the curiosity planted in them to write or make music is a really cool opportunity, and we encourage them to explore that curiosity because its really very rewarding.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
I think one that we use alot is “Let’s do it and see what happens”

Where in your hometown is a must go to visit?
Too many places to recommend but generally just any local food spot

You’re coming off tour; 1) Where do you go first? 2) Who do you see first? 3)What do you eat first?
We would all probably go home first to get some proper rest and showers, meet our friends and families, and eat whatever homemade meal is available.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Our gear, extra gear, wallets, phones, and water.
