INTRODUCING ‘SAVANTÉ’, A MULTIARTIST WHO STARTED WRITING AT THE AGE OF 8 AND FIRST ALBUM RECORDED AT 16, GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHO HE IS, HIS NEW MUSIC AND WHATS TO COME IN OUR CHAT BELOW!

What is your name?
They call me Savantè.

What is your genre of music?
A genre with a huge void at the moment, Pop Music.

Give us a little bio about you.
I grew up moving between the US and Korea, yes, south, not north. I started making demo tapes with my mother in my bedroom around age 10 and continued to do so into my teens, traveling back and forth to NYC. I just never stopped, and here we are today.

What made you go into music?
I used to create melodies in my head on the playground and would piece them together after school to avoid homework. I didn’t know what it meant to write a song, it just felt right to do it. It was like an Amazon package that got delivered everyday.

Are you signed?
Yes, I am signed to W&M Media.

You just released your new single ‘Beautiful,’ tell us more about the single.
The song is really catching fire, we’re super pumped. It’s spreading a lot of good vibes around the world. It’s the only vaccine I’ve had through all this.

What is the meaning behind ‘Beautiful’?
Beautiful is an affirmation anthem, I want people to know that they are beautiful and feel like a star within themselves. Praise yourself for once.

Will we see a music video for the track?
YES. We had to cancel plans to film on set, but then a miracle happened. I found a video on Facebook of people dancing to the song in a parking lot. BAM, the #iambeautifulchallenge was on TikTok. So we’re compiling footage from all around the world of people vibing to the song. It’s better this way, it celebrates the people, which is why I wrote it. Mission accomplished. Wanna be in it?

Will we see an EP or Album this year?
Yes, EP will be coming out early Summer, album will follow that. At first I thought that Pop wouldn’t crack through everything that’s out now, turns out, this is what we need.

Do you have any shows coming up?
The quarantine has obviously affected all of that. We’re going to get creative with everything in the meantime, via online.

What else can we expect in Early 2020?
We’re working on bringing our shoe line, Cocomonds, into the states. You’re gonna love it.

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any upcoming artists?

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any upcoming artists?

We are collaborating with lots of online influencers, especially on Tik Tok.

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? Who would they have to contact?
I’d be open to that. They should contact W&M Media : KyleMarshall@WandMmedia.com

Do you play any instruments?
Yes. Piano, Guitar, Violin.

Who are your influences?
Coldplay, The Bucketlist Family, Music Travel Love,

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
I assume that they are a combination of how I feel in the present moment and when it meets my imagination I assume that a chemical reaction occurs that inevitably allows me to hear and see sound.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Expanding our business collaborations with W&M, traveling a lot, not eating bats.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
Currently, we are working on bringing over Cocomods sandals to the US. My family and I also have a Korean fusion restaurant called Korealicious. I am usually in the gym 4-5 times a week & I’m passionate about herbalism, renewable energy and sustainable living and drinking nice wine and enjoying life. I’m simple at heart.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more into the music scene?
Thriller, by Michael Jackson. I wasn’t alive for its release, but I had a video of the making that I watched everyday.

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
You should stop looking for a husband on Bumble.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Always keep going, trust me.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Anything is possible.

Where in your hometown is a must go to visit?
Honestly, Korealicious. The food there is pure comfort and flavor. You can’t get Korean food for 120 miles, so, it’s a gem.

Your coming off tour;
1/ Where do you go first? The Beach.
2/ Who do you see first? Prince, my puppy.
3/What do you eat first? Start with a Charcuterie board and a glass of Rhone.

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
Tea, my lucky charm, my laptop, my lucky gold mic & my Juul.
