Joseph Wright  Joshua Rhodes Matthew Bond  Kieran Bond

What is the bands name?
Henderson

What is your genre of music?
Indie pop with hint of alternative rock. Its like math rock that could be taught in primary school. Early learning numeracy rock in summary

Give us a little bio about you.
Sheffield noise makers/ actively enthusiastic about the popular and local music scene/ gang of rapscallions that live for bringing sounds together and mashing them up in one big hectic waveform.

What made you go into music?
Other than a passionate drive to create. It was a desperate plea for female attention and boredom which brought us to where we are now. Seeing local bands rise the ranks in Sheffield it proved that the music scene respected new artists & wasn’t just for wanabees, but in actual fact for prodigies, you best believe. Was that devvo? In a fashion yes.

Are you a signed?
No we aren’t signed to any form of label.

Your set to release your new single ‘Brightness Collides’, tell us more about the single.
The single was recorded by the amazing David Sanderson in a studio in Sheffield called Tesla Studio’s. Dave allowed us to portray the naive and uncontrollable feeling of young love. The meaning behind the single is a sort of reflection on a personal encounter with the opposite sex, but no matter how hard you tried to fight off this overwhelming feeling of lust/love or whatever you want to call it. You’d always shy away from it as a defence mechanism embedded in your brain from previous relationships.

Describe the track in two words.
Naughty America (because nobody does it better)

What was the writing process like?
A Rube Goldberg machine: a machine designed to complicate an innate task in an overly complicated way.

What was the recording process like?
Smooth operation throughout, soon as we walked in the studio we knew exactly what sound went wanted, which was a nice feeling to have .

Who did you work with on the single?
just David Sanderson.

Will we see a music video for of the tracks?
Its in the pipeline, Keep your eyes peeled on social media

Will we see a EP or Album this year, if so what can we expect?
This years pretty much over, Christmas is around the corner. But the new year will hold new music, plenty more gigs and hopefully a few more ears listening to Henderson.

Do you have any shows coming up?
We have a show in Doncaster on the 23rd of November, at the Leppard. Unfortunately, that’s all the information we can tell you at this time without spoilers.

What else can we expect in 2019?
The band are going to Amsterdam on a non musical related trip but we’re gunna try find an open mic night and show the Dutch how to bop.

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any up coming artists? We’re friends with fair few local bands, Frazer are our pals, would be great to start a project with them. Children of the state, intervene, Bedroom High Club. The list goes on.

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? and who would they have to contact?
Were gagging to do a groovy colab with the right artist. Somebody that can provide a fresh spin on what we’re getting at in Henderson. Contact the page directly with ideas and well hit you up.

Do you play any instruments?
We like to think so… collectively we have 50 years of experience of musical rambling.

Who are your influences?
Wow erm.. see we all individually have a wide choice of influences. Joe is an old rock and roll lover such as Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran Richard Hawley. Josh has a wide variety such as Dire straits, The Cure, Foals, the list could keep going but I think we’d start to lose track. Kierran & Matt are well rounded music listeners. If you play them something, they’ll dig it.

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
We get our influences to write throughout a number of different things, whether it be through personal experience or a story to tell. Whichever feels right to that specific song.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Two kids a mortgage and paying for a lifetime of bad habits. Fingers crossed.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
Some of us work out, some of us go drinking or go to the football. Majority of us are probably doing something we shouldn’t be.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more into the music scene?
the whole of antidotes – Foals, we cant pick one out we’re all in envy that we didn’t write any of those songs.

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
If you’re gunna do something, make sure you put 110% in otherwise people will notice. Don’t wanna look like a loser.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Don’t be afraid to do your own thing. Nobody like a copycat & never assume your rider is safe back stage.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind – Dr. Seuss

Where in your hometown is a must go to visit?
The legendary leadmill got to be

Your coming off tour;
1/ Where do you go first? Kelham island for a pint
