What is your name?
Elodie Rêverie

What is your genre of music?
Electro-Pop with a bit of indie influences

Give us a little bio about you.
I grew up in Brooklyn and I’ve been surrounded by music ever since I can remember. I live in both NYC and LA so I’m constantly traveling and I’m able to draw in more and more inspirations for my tracks. Like the true New Yorker that I am, I am always hustling and trying to make things happen. I absolutely love what I do and want nothing more than for others to be able to enjoy my music as well.

What made you go in to music?
I absolutely fell in love with The Rolling Stones at a young age. I was instantly hooked, how could you not be! I started song writing through a documentary I was making for a college course, I wanted to have an interesting story arc so I thought watching me struggle with writing a song for the first time would make for a good story, but I ended up falling in love with it! The process of writing music, producing it, recording it, singing and performing excites me like nothing else!

Are you a signed?
I am not signed but eventually I would like to become signed because being an indie musician is quite expensive!

Your set to release your new single ‘Gold Rush, tell us more about the single.
I wrote these lyrics when I had a hearing injury in my bed, and I made the beat in bed as soon as I was a little better! They’re about the role of California in my recording career I guess.

What is the meaning behind the single? “Gold Rush”.
opens the door for others to explore their deepest desires, the dreams that keep them up at night. I was inspired by the mid-1800’s California Gold Rush, I saw a parallel of others uprooting their lives without a guarantee of success in my own musical journey.

Describe the track in two words.
Inspirational and fun!

What was the writing process like?
I just kind of fell into a trance and started writing the lyrics in my iPhone notes app. It just kind of all poured out and thankfully made sense.

What was the recording process like?
I recorded it at 4th street in Santa Monica with mix engineer Chase McElhaney. It wasn’t fun and I was so grateful to be able to hear properly after my hearing injury!

Who did you work with on the single?
Chase McElhaney mixed the track and he is the best!

Will we see a music video for the track?
I hope so!

Will we see an EP or Album and if so, what can we expect?
I ’ve written 17 original songs this year so most likely—we will see 🙂

Do you have any shows coming up?
Yes! I love performing.

If so where will you be heading?
August 13th at Arlene’s Grocery in NYC.

What else can we expect in 2019?
More releases and more performances for sure!

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any upcoming artists?
Not at the moment!

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? and who would they have to contact?
Potentially! On my website,  elodiereverieofficial.com  there is a button you can click for collaboration inquiries.

Do you play any instruments?
I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old and stuck with it until 18! I still play!

Who are your influences?
Classical, Dusty Springfield, Fleetwood Mac, and David Bowie.

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
I free write a lot and I have no filter which suits me well for song writing.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Hopefully in London

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
I like to spend time with my friends in LA or my boyfriend Sam when I can! I read and go to the movies quite a lot and I sleep and eat quite a bit. I also always find myself doing research for places that I can perform at, music seems to always be on my mind.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?
Great question. I love Spooky by Dusty Springfield and liked to imagine myself performing it in small venues back in the day so I’d say that played a role. ]

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”  is one of my favourite songs by The Rolling Stones and it’s full of sagely advice and wisdom.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Read a lot and make sure you get enough sleep! We get a lot of advice nowadays—trust yourself.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
To be determined.

Where in your hometown is a must go to visit?
I grew up in Brooklyn! Go to Pier One, it’s awesome!

Your coming off tour;
1/ Where do you go first? I go to Brooklyn
2/ Who do you see first? My cat, Eloise
3/What do you eat first? Ms. Mud Pie from Henry’s End

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
My light up sneakers, my vintage mic, my laptop with my beats on them, my sunglasses, my light up cape!
