What is your name?

I go by Sciarra

Give us a little bio about you as a band and as individuals.-

I grew up in Anaheim, CA and now I am located in Los Angeles which is about an hour away. I started singing and dancing at a young age doing multiple theater productions. I started writing lyrics after finding my love for singing and decided to learn piano to help me put melodies to the lyrics I was writing. From there, I decided I wanted to record my own original music and found producers in my hometown to help me bring the songs to life. It lead me on a journey of working on several original songs over the years and trying out various pop genres. After attending my first electronic music festival I fell in love with dance music and the production side of music which inspired me to learn production and go in an electronic direction with my new music.

What made you go in to music?

I went into music after finding my love of singing and performing through musical theater. I loved being on stage and performing for an audience. I never could see myself doing anything else.

Are you a signed?

I just released my new single with an independent label called Hinky.

Your brand new single ‘ Back To More ‘ ,is out, tell us more about it.-

This song is bringing together all of the elements I love from big trailer drums to electronic elements. It’s about being in a toxic situation whether it’s a relationship or the people you surround yourself with and no matter how bad it gets you still can’t seem to detach yourself from it. I think we all experience these situations in our lives where we know something is bad for us but we keep going back to it.

What was the recording process like? The recording day was very long because I decided I wanted to make a bunch of changes to the melodies when I started recording it and even changed the key of the song. It was defiantly an experimental process.

What was the writing process like?

I got to write it with a co-writer which is always fun. I love collaborating with other people and getting different perspectives. It was also amazing to play around with a lot of ideas and concepts since I was just having fun with the creative process and figuring out the direction I really wanted to go.

Describe the track in two words.

Dark & Cinematic

This is a new direction for you, what was the reason behind the change?

I wasn’t happy with the direction my music was going and really needed a change. I have been writing music for tv/film the last few years and fell in love with the dark cinematic sound. I also love writing it and the way it always takes you somewhere new. I felt it was the perfect change for me and I am so excited to see where it takes me.

How do you get inspiration to write songs?

I get inspiration from everyday life and the situations I go through. I also love writing from different perspectives whether it’s a character in a movie or something that happened to my friend. I think you can write about anything and there should be no limits to what you can write.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?

I see myself touring the world and continuing to write and release music.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?

I go to dance classes, the beach, hanging out with friends, and watch my favorite movies on Netflix.

I grew up listening to a lot of different music and was so inspired by acts such as Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, and Crystal Castles.

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

The best advice was to always work hard and never give up. Your hard work will always pay off even on the days it seems like nothing will ever happen but if you keep at it you will have pay off.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?

I would tell them to do the music that they love and trust their vision. It’s so important to trust in yourself and the process. Also, enjoy the journey. We get so caught up with the end result that we forget to live life.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?

“Our great glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”.
