Shoegazing can be useful sometimes

We come from a rock background, but we love the future

 

 

Give us a little bio about you as a band and individuals.
Chelsea Boots sprang to life in Madrid, in 2014. In their first steps they grew with determination, leading to major success in their first Spanish Tour with only a few singles released, including their sold-out in Teatro Barceló in front of more than 800 people, their appearance in Mad Cool Festival and a contract with Universal Music Spain. After these four years of hard work, the band recorded their first album, set to be released in September 2018, in which the band offers their fresh rock mixed with pop, hip-hop, R&B and electronic music.

You released the single ‘ Love On Me’ ,tell us more about
The song is our ultimate fantasy: mixing, in less than three minutes, the intensity of contemporary urban Latin music with the swagger and violence of distorted guitars

 

 

 

What was the writing process like?
We started with beat, and then built everything around it

 

 

 

What was the recording process like?
Rather quick.

 

 

 

You also released the video for ‘Love On Me’, what was the filming like?
Really crazy. We teamed up with Pablo Amores, who’s one of Spain’s most radical video artists

 

 

 

Any memories you can share from the shoot?
Nobody got hurt. That was quite a miracle.

 

 

 

You are also gearing up to release your album which is called ‘ Guilty Pleasure’ at the end of the year, tell us more about the album.
Well, it was released on 21st September. It’s our debut album.

 

 

What was the writing process like?
It was a long but fruitful process.

 

 

 

What was the recording process like?
Really quick. Eleven tracks in just two weeks.

Do you have gigs coming up or a tour in planning?
Yes sir!

 

 

 

If so where are you thinking of heading?
We have a Spanish tour scheduled (we’re from Spain, you know, toros, paella…), and we’ll be touring UK and Europe after that. Stay tuned!

 

 

 

What else can we expect from you this year?
Our debut album and lots of live shows!

 

 

 

Do you have any collaborations coming up with any up coming artists?
Not yet.

 

 

 

Would you be up for collaborations if other musicians wanted one with you? and who would they have to contact?
Yes, of course. Just contact us through social media. Do not hesitate.

 

 

 

Do you play any instruments?
Well, we do. Lots of them actually.

 

 

 

Who are your influences?
Mostly everything, although early 80’s music (MJ’s Thriller, Fleetwood Mac’s Mirage) is reallyour main sonic reference.

 

 

 

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
Our own lives are our main source of inspiration.

 

 

 

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
In bigger venues, with bigger crowds.

 

 

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
It depends. Reading, jogging… Everything but drugs.

 

 

 

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?
Changes – David Bowie

 

 

 

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
Be gentle, but be firm; very firm indeed.

 

 

 

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not about the industry and just as an artist?
Write your own songs. And write a lot of them.

 

 

 

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
When something’s not right it’s wrong

 

 

 

Where in your hometown is a must go to visit?
Museo del Prado, in Madrid.

A nice salad. Yeah, touring is exhausting and we’re in 2018. Junk food is not nice.
