What is your name?
Ironic aka DJ Ironik

 

 

What is your genre of music?
My genre of music is an infusion of RnB, Hip Hop and some would say Grime. I just make any genre of music I’m feeling really.

 

 

Give us a little bio about you for those new to your fan base.

I started out as a DJ at the age of 13, then went onto producing for a few well known rappers in the UK (Chipmunk, Wiley, Tinie Tempah) at the age of 15 and then eventually transitioned into an artist myself. Went onto having 3 top 10 hits, selling over a million records and now back with a new album in 2017.

 

 

 

Tell us more about your music for those new to your fan base.
A lot of my music is story telling thoughtful lyric driven for example ’Stay with Me’ and ‘Imagine’ and then I have a few more uplifting fun songs for example ‘Wanna Be Your Man’ and ‘Falling in Love’, but still love songs and story telling in my style. I try to make songs for your every mood.

 

 

 

You dropped your album ‘Truth Be Told’, how was the response?
The response has been amazing, couldn’t have asked for a better response. My own peers have been contacting me telling me how much they love the new music too so that means a lot. We’re just gonna keep pushing the album out more and more so people are aware of it.

 

 

 

You are set to release your new video, what can you tell us about it?
My new video ‘Watch Nuttin’ is out now and a fun filled club video featuring my friend Ayo Beatz. It’s a fun party record that will most definitely have everyone dancing.

 

 

Will we see any new collaborations coming this year?
I have a few other features and tracks that I’’ve been working on in the last few months that will be coming out this year which I’m Excited for, and Im still in the studio working on some more collaborations to come out this year.

 

 

 

You also just worked with  Icey Stanley’s , how did that come about?
Icey Stanley featured on my new album on a track called Notice’. I came across him online and thought he was very talented so I got in contact with him to work and we’ve been working non stop. He’s a great artist and definitely one to watch.

 

 

 

Whats does the track mean to you?
The track is great, as soon as he sent it to me I said this is really my style. It’s a slow chilled but has a good vibe type of record.

Real, Honest, Fun.

 

 

 

Will we see any shows or a tour maybe?
We are planning a few more shows for next year and potentially a big tour, but for now I’ve just announce some DJ shows for a few big clubs around the UK and during the summer people can look out for.

 

 

 

If so where will you be heading?
I’ll be holding my regular pool parties in Tenerife at Kaluna Beach Club once every month every first Thursday which will be fun. And also more destinations throughout the summer.

 

 

 

What else can we expect from you this year?

More videos, I want to release more videos from the new album which can help create more awareness for the album. And more music hopefully.

 

 

 

Are you a signed?
Im currently signed to an independent label called Creating Monsters.

 

 

 

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Hopefully working or running a record label. That’s my next aim, to become an A&R at a record label and find some great talent out there.

 

 

 

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
I’m never not doing music, it’s my life. Wether i’m in the studio, working on projects with other artists or out DJing, the work never stops. If i’m not then Ill be with my family.

Of course, I’m always up for collaborating if the track is right, all my management details are found on my socials.

 

 

 

What made you go in to music?
My mum and family were big influences in getting me into music. They always had it playing around the house or when we went over to family gatherings. It was big in the households. Thats where I think my love for music came from.

 

 

 

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
Just to stay consistent and keep striving for greatness. Never stop doing what I love.

 

 

 

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not just about the industry also just as a artist/band?
Keep working hard and aiming for your goals. If you feel it’s what your here to do then go for it.

 

 

 

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
‘Find a job that you love and you’ll never work another day in your life’.

1/ Where is the first place you go?
Back to home with family or back to the studio.
2/Who is the first person you see?
My mum or my girlfriend.
3/What is the first thing you eat.
I try to eat healthy after finishing a tour because we eat so much rubbish on tour.

 

 

 

Where is the go to place in your hometown?
I like going to the cinema and just having a chilled date night with my girlfriend.
