COUNTRY ARTIST ‘BRIA WILSON’ CHATS TO ME ALL ABOUT HER SELF-TITLED EP ‘BRIA WILSON’ AND THE STORY BEHIND HER TRACKS!

What is your name?
Bria Wilson

What is your genre of music?
Country

Give us a little bio about you.
I am 26 years old and have been singing and have had a passion for music, for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my mom and brother in a small town in Alberta, Canada. We then moved to another smaller Alberta town when I turned 14, where my mom had met my step dad. I did various things throughout my life with music and learned it’s all about the people you know.

Tell us more about your music.
My music is your average country songs with a mix of Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and The Band Perry. I do have one song on my EP written in memory of my biological dad who passed away Jan 2015.

Tell us more about your latest release and what else you have planned.
My latest release is an EP of which I had a lot of help to get me out there and follow my passion for music. I’ve learned a lot in the last year and a half I had never known before. The EP in itself has a lot of edge and emotion all built into four songs, and couldn’t imagine anything less out of my first public album.

Not at the moment

What else can we expect from you this year?
I’m always writing new songs, and always coming up with new ideas. It’s an art I truly enjoy
no matter where I am. There is literally inspiration everywhere!

I’m hoping so eventually. However nothing yet.

Where do you see yourself now in 5 Years?
Still making music. It’s my passion and I do highly enjoy it.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
I usually go over to my best friend’s house and hang out with her and my year old nephew. I have also always valued family time. So I will also spend my time with them as much as possible.

Where would your dream venue to play in your hometown?
Maybe not the place I grew up. I don’t really consider the town I lived in until I was 14 my home town. But where I do, they have a massive rodeo and a stage show I would love to be part of one day.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?
Just music in general. Growing up music has always been a positive influence in my life. It’s my escape from reality, as I feel it is for most.

Where is your dream festival to perform?
CMA Fest! I went with my mom when we were down in Nashville and I was just mesmerized.

What made you go in to music?
I wanted to be someone who could write and record music other could relate too in a positive way.

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
“Don’t give up! When things get hard or you feel like you’re failing, push through it. Because ever rainbow has a pot of gold at the end of it” something my mom has always said to me and I will carry with me forever.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians not just about the industry also just as an artist/band?
Follow that dream and don’t give up. Put all of you energy into and don’t give up! There will be days you feel like you’re failing, or not going anywhere, but it’s just a bump in the road and vehicle can get over.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?
“Life is like a piano, the white keys represent happiness and black shows sadness. But as you go through life’s journey, remember the the black keys also make music”

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?
1. Your stage presence
2. Always remember to warm up your voice
3. Your outfit(s)
4. Set List
5. Merch it’s one of the ways artists make most of their money these days.
